Record Your Lazy Summer Days

We often create scrapbook pages of big events, vacations, or holidays, but have you ever thought to record everyday memories? I often wish I had photos of my grandparents showing the little things they enjoyed. Today’s project is a page I made to record an ordinary moment.

In summers past, we enjoyed lazy days in the backyard on a comfy outdoor couch. Now, this might not seem like a memory worth recording, but the story behind it is something our family will never forget.

To give this page a relaxing feel, I chose cooler colors for the design. The acrylic title layered stickers, florals, and a sloth set the theme for the page to let you know what this memory is about lazy summer days.

We spent many of our summer afternoons out on that couch reading, napping, and relaxing with the pups. When our daughter moved back home, it was a refuge for her when she needed a place to just be.

These little acrylic sloths just hanging out on the page were the perfect addition. They remind me of the slowness of summer afternoons enjoying God’s blessings during a time we needed them most.

This simple couch arrived at a time when our lives were a bit chaotic and we had lost sight of His provision. I will never forget all that we went through before, during, and after this couch arrived.

On my page, I added a little sentiment to remind me to remain calm because it was all going to be okay. I often need this reminder and adding something like this to a layout allows me to tell a story I want to pass on.

Eight years ago, we had lost children, and jobs, and felt like we were drowning. In my video, I share the story of how we found the couch, but I didn’t go into much detail. If you wish to know more, I will gladly tell you.

Life is so much more than vacations, birthday parties, and grand events. When my children look back on memories, I want them to remember the little things that occurred in life and how items like outdoor couches meant so much.
