We live about an hour away from the mountains, so each year we try to visit the riverside and take in all the amazing autumn colors. Today, I am recording a some of the photos that I took the last time we visited using an autumn kit from {Not} Just for Boys Kit Club.

Grid designs have become popular in the the scrapbook world, so I loosely based mine on some that I have been wanting to try. Instead of pattern papers, I used a filmstrip cardstock cut and texture paste to layout my page.

I backed the cut outs in the filmstrip with some straw colored cardstock that matched the leaves in the photo. To give it a little bit of texture, I sprayed the cardstock with water, wrinkled it up, then dried it flat before backing the space.
The Aquamarine Autumn Days kit is full of blue-green designs and patterns, which paired perfectly with my fall photos.

I think my favorite part of this kit are the acetate leaves. Their watercolor look with the soft colors contrasted well with the yellow and red leaves in my photos and the translucency of the acetate gave a lovely layered look to the design.
The package was filled with blue, yellow, green, and blue-green leaves and butterflies. To complement the yellow in my photos, I selected leaves that were mostly blue and butterflies in a pale green color.

In addition to the items in the kit, I added a few sticker sentiments from my collection. These were in a soft sage color that matched the other elements on my page.
In my video, I share my thought process for putting this layout together and show you some tips along the way.
This layout documents the beautiful state we live in and all the gorgeous colors in the fall and a snapshot of my husband enjoying the calm of the river. All the aquamarine from this kit helped those photos become the focal point of the page.
