As many of you know, I am a bit of a Cricut® addict. I love using this wonderful machine along with our Cricut® collections for paper crafting & home decor. ♥Can you imagine my excitement when Close to My Heart introduced their NEW SvGs? I could not wait to be able to play with them.
This time, instead of creating something out of paper, I chose to alter a few of the New SvG images to create a few Christmas Gifts.♥ For each these coffee mugs, I used images from the Family History, School Days, and Where Our Story Begins files. After creating my design, I cut each one from Premium Outdoor Vinyl.
I then used a Weeding Tool to remove the excess Vinyl & applied Transfer Tape over each of the images. If I were creating a sign, I would layer all the images together, then apply at once. I have found that it is much easier to apply the images separately with cups & mugs.
Are you ready to start playing with our New SvG images?♥ If you are still a little confused about using Vinyl & SvG images, I have created a short video showing how I made one of these mugs. There will also be a Tutorial showing how to upload SvGs into Design Space posted here on my blog next Tuesday.
Now ‘Hop” on over to Alyson Mayo’s blog to see her work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their blogs to get some great crafting tips and other fun ideas. Currently, we have over TEN SvGs that are ready for you to create with. Contact your CTMH Consultant, or visit the Digital Art tab of my website to see how you can get the bundle for only $7.95.
♥I can’t wait to see what you create!

Thanks for the video. I’ve done very little with anything except paper, so this was very informative. Love your projects!
I am so glad to hear that it helped. I love using vinyl on my home decor projects and gifts. I will warn you: once you start, you won’t want to stop. 😂
How darning !!! Super cute and so creative.
Thank you, Judy.
Awesome! I wouldn’t have thought to use the tree design on a mug, but it is great!
I made one last week as a prize for my retreat. It was a white tree on a teal mug and it was beautiful.
This is an amazing idea, I might have to lift the idea of a mug or something as a thank you for my monthly workshop ladies and what a great way to say thank you but also look what we have that is new and you can do it too! I love it. Now the cups you made are awesome, I love the tell your story with the tree….great!
I created a teal mug with a white tree that I gave away as a gift at my retreat. People LOVED it. It was a great way to showcase the SvGs and make something they would use.
Wow! What a beautiful idea and such terrific gifts! Thanks for the information as well as this is new to me!
I am so glad this helps. I plan on hosting on online class in a few months. This was a very condensed version of how to create a simple vinyl project.
Wonderful gift ideas! I love working with vinyl!
Thank you. I hope to make a few more this month.
Beautiful mugs and I love the how-to video!
Thank you, Wendy. I have only been making videos for about a month so it is good to hear that people are liking them.
