Today, I have a delightful Halloween card project that combines the classic Halloween colors of black and pink to create a witchy card that’s sure to captivate. In my latest video, I’ll walk you through some simple stenciling techniques and share my favorite beginner mixed media tips.

What makes this card special is the use of fabulous new items from This Calls for Confetti. For years, I have used their amazing shaker collections, but recently discovered their amazing stamps stencils, and dies. As a new member of their design team, I am so excited to share more projects with you!

To set the stage, I opted for a black opaque paste. Using a temporary adhesive to hold the delicate stencil in place, I applied the paste with a larger tool to maintain an even fill. The trick is to move with the design rather than against it for a flawless finish.

Adding a touch of sparkle, I incorporated a glitter paste using the Sparkles Stencil. This is an absolute must-have for any craft room. The rubber or silicone spatula I used prevented glitter from sneaking under the stencil.
I heat embossed the focal point image with distress oxide ink, giving it a vintage cartoon effect. The pumpkins were painted with Distress Oxides to create a charming, chalky finish that enhances the card’s nostalgic feel.

To complete the look, I sprinkled in some whimsical bats from a Colorfully Creepy Confetti . This added a playful touch to the design.
