Today, I’m excited to share a special project that will help you create a lovely bridal party scrapbook page using the fabulous July kit from Color Rush Studio. This kit is packed with vibrant pattern papers that might seem overwhelming at first glance, but don’t worry—I’ve got some fun tips and tricks to help you make the most of these gorgeous prints.

Patterned papers can be intimidating, especially when they’re as striking as the ones in the Color Rush Studio’s July kit. However, with a few simple techniques, you can turn these eye-catching designs into stunning scrapbook elements. In my latest YouTube video, I demonstrate several ways to incorporate these vibrant papers into your projects seamlessly.

One of the easiest ways to use bold pattern papers is by cutting them into smaller pieces. In the video, I show how I cut down a busier pattern paper to create a beautiful background. Using small chunks of your prints helps to tone down their intensity while still adding a pop of color and interest to your layout.

Another technique I love is adding stitching to patterned papers. In my unboxing video for this kit, I shared some ideas for using the components, and stitching a diamond pattern was one of them. The result was fantastic! Incorporating stitching not only adds texture but also makes the pattern paper stand out even more.
Pattern paper can be used make custom embellishments. Floral patterns can be tricky to use in their entirety, so I often cut them apart to create floral embellishments. This technique is perfect for those who struggle with using large prints.

One key to working with bold patterns is balance. By introducing solid colors, like a cardstock frame, you can create a harmonious look that doesn’t overwhelm the eye. Solid colors help to ground the design and provide a resting place for the viewer’s eyes amidst the vibrant patterns.
In the video, I also share a complete layout showcasing some of the amazing supplies from the Color Rush kit. From patterned papers to embellishments, you’ll see how all the elements come together to create a cohesive and beautiful scrapbook page.
I hope these tips inspire you to dive into your pattern papers with confidence. I encourage you to try out these techniques and share your creations with me.
