I’m so excited to share something fun and fabulous with you today! Two bright and bold card projects I created using the Hero Arts monthly kits. One of my favorite projects is this “You’re the Best” card. I love the retro feel of this design and how it brings back my childhood memories.
For this project, I used the July Die Set of the Month, which featured a retro cassette tape die with awesome layered details and the “hello” sentiment made from unrolled tape. Who remembers winding those with a pencil?
To make the design pop, I paired the die with a soft brick stencil background and ink-blended shadows for a subtle urban look. This is a great example of how to mix clean backgrounds with detailed dies for high impact.
I absolutely love how bold the “BIG HUGS” sentiment looks layered over the warm ombré rainbow of paper strips. The coordinating die from the the July Stamp & Cut of the Month made it easy to cut and pop up the words for extra dimension.
It’s cheerful, colorful, and so easy to recreate using scraps or gradient cardstock. This card would be perfect for sending a little love someone’s way!
