Today’s interactive card design is sure to delight your friends on Valentine’s Day. This unique Popping Flap Valentine card is sure to bring a smile to anyone’s face when they pull the tab to reveal the surprise inside. Interactive cards add a delightful touch to any occasion, and this design is simple and fun to make.
For this card, I’m using the lovable Bigfoot die from This Calls for Confetti. This die is one of my new favorites and was the perfect image to create masculine valentines for my boys. Below, you will find the cutting guide for this card and a video that will guide you step by step through the process of making this whimsical card.

You can customize this project using papers and embellishments you already have in your craft stash. This time of year, I try to use holiday patterns for Valentine’s projects. The reds, grays, and pinks are a wonderful combination for manly cards.
To decorate this card, I raided my stash of dies. I added a small square, leaves, and tiny hearts. That little bit of twine added a rustic touch and some texture.

This Popping Flap Valentine card is what I would consider an intermediate card making project. The inner mechanism is an unusual one, and takes some time to create. I did share quite a few tips in my video to make it easier to assemble.
It is my recommendation that you not add too many embellishments inside the flap. Multiple layers could cause issues with the flap sliding into the card. I kept mine simple with a large Bigfoot die cut. I will write a sentiment before I give it to my son.
This fun and interactive card is sure to bring joy to your Valentine. I added a tab to show the receiver where to pull. When they do, Bigfoot pops out for a delightful surprise!
