Wreath designs are consistently well-liked, but I wanted to experiment with a unique approach. Allow me to share some of the changes I implemented and recommend a few for you to try as well.

Once you select a sketch, begin by identifying the elements you wish to incorporate on your scrapbook page. In my case, I opted for the watercolor wash background, circular wreath shape, floral designs, and the title positioned at the bottom of the page.

Although I am not proficient in mixed media, I wanted to give that brushed background a try. I opted for a simpler technique.

Wax paper ink smooshing is a creative alternative to using brushes, and it provided an artistic and textured look to the page. For those who prefer to avoid mixed media, stamps, paper strips, or a paper pattern can achieve a similar effect.

Creating a smaller circle wreath with floral accents is a charming twist on the traditional wreath design and adds a unique touch to the scrapbook layout. Instead of filling the space with florals, I layered a simple cut file around my photo then added a three-dimensional florals on the opposite side.

Placing the photo on the left and resizing it to fit the circle wreath image created a dynamic space that drew the eye to that part of the page. Behind it, I layered arch shapes stitched together with my sewing machine.

The bold title in the sketch was something that caught my eye. Keeping the title at the base of the page maintains the balance and structure of the layout while allowing the focal point to shine.

These simple alterations created a playful and whimsical background that complemented the floral wreath beautifully. To balance the design, I added a small cluster of embellishments in the top corner of the layout, tying in the colors from the floral accents.

In my video, I demonstrate additional methods to modify this sketch and showcase some of my favorite techniques for creating rolled flowers.

The combination of the circular wreath, dimensional florals, and stitched arches added depth and visual interest to the scrapbook page, making the photo the focal point while still incorporating intricate details. These simple techniques are a lovely way to showcase memories while infusing scrapbook sketches into your scrapbooking projects.

I hope this inspired you to try something new. If you have any questions about this project or the supplies listed above, feel free to leave me a comment.
