Welcome to the To My Bestie Stamp of the Month Blog Hop where we will be featuring the April To My Bestie stamp set. If you have come here from Michelle Stewart’s blog, you are on the right path! When you are finished reading my post, you can click on the link at the end to move to the next blog. This blog hop is simple, fun, and full of artwork created by some very talented consultants. If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melinda’s Blog.
As I prepared for this blog hop, I wanted to create something memorable♥ that you could give as a gift to your “bestie”. With all of the new Seasonal Expressions Two products to choose from, it was difficult to decide what to make. Instead of going “overboard”, I decided to stick with a personalized gift, a Bestie Bookmark, that is sure to bring a smile to your best friend’s heart. I began by cutting a piece of Sweet Girl paper at 2½” x 6″ for the Bookmark then used a Fancy Tags Thin Cut to partially cut the top and bottom shape. I used the same Thin Cut to create a small decorative piece for the top.
By creating a stencil from an image in the Flower Market collection, I was able to add some designs with Opaque Texture Paste to the background. Once the Texture Paste had dried, I shaded each image with Sugarplum Shimmer and randomly stamped a flower image from the To My Bestie stamp set with Charcoal Ink.
The rest was simple.♥ I stamped the “Besties” onto Cold Pressed Watercolor Paper, shaded them with Watercolor Pencils, and added their image and a sentiment to the bookmark. The tassel was created with some frayed Mink Twine and Sapphire Crochet Thread with a Gold Bow Charm from the Clearance Section of my website. I didn’t stop there. If you are going to create a gift for your “Bestie”, you might as well create a small card♥ to go with it, so I made this simple 3″ card using a piece of Sweet Girl paper and Pebble Cardstock. The images were stamped onto some color washed Watercolor Paper that was randomly stamped with Pebble colored flowers. They are very faint, but make a beautiful background for the sentiment.
Simple, Sweet, and Ready to give as a gift to your “Bestie”. Honesty, I think these would also make wonderful Mother’s Day Gifts.♥ I do suggest that you laminate them if you are planning to use them in a book. That shimmer spreads on anything it touches.😁
