Use Your Floral Dies on a Beginner Friendly Scrapbook Layout

When it comes to scrapbooking, I love finding ways to use the tools and supplies I already own. Today, I want to show you how easy it can be to create a scrapbook layout with nothing more than a few floral dies, some cardstock, and a handful of embellishments.

For this project, I used the new May Vintage Memories Hip Kit. It is packed with vintage pieces that were perfect for this photo. If you don’t own a kit like this, donโ€™t worry. This design will work perfectly with whatever supplies you have in your own collection.

The inspiration for this page came from a Baby Butterfly layout I created last spring. I wanted to replicated the design in a new way using florals and it turned out amazing.

Instead of treating the floral dies as little accents, I used them to create a full rainbow background on my page. This is such a simple technique, but it makes a big impact. Each row of flowers was spaced just a half inch apart to give the design breathing room.

Spacing and white space can be just as important as the embellishments you add. This is often called negative space, and itโ€™s a beginner-friendly design trick that keeps your page from feeling cluttered.

By stopping the rainbow design a few inches above the bottom, I created a clean spot to anchor my photo and journaling. Itโ€™s such a simple way to guide the eye exactly where you want it to go.

Once my background was finished, I added a black and white photo to keep the focus on the story. I layered a few tags, labels, and fabric die cuts from the May kit behind the photo, keeping to softer colors so the background could shine.

A simple gold foam title, a delicate vellum sticker, and a few mint green leaves were all I needed to finish the page. Sometimes less really is more, especially when youโ€™ve already created such a bold background.

This layout is a reminder that you donโ€™t need complicated supplies or advanced skills to create something beautiful. With a few floral dies, some cardstock, and a little stitching, you can make a scrapbook page that feels polished and intentional. And if youโ€™d like to try this exact design, you can find the May Vintage Memories Kit at Hip Kit Club, which includes the papers, embellishments, and cardstock I used.

I hope this gives you some inspiration to look at your tools a little differently and to use what you already have in your stash. Sometimes the simplest supplies can lead to the most stunning pages.
