August Hero Studio Inspiration with Magic, Mystery & Victorian Vibes

If you’re searching for cardmaking inspiration using the Hero Arts subscription kits, youโ€™re in the right place. Iโ€™m excited to share two enchanting handmade cards I created using the August Hero Studio collection. This magical and moody release that feels like it walked right out of a gothic novel (or maybe Disneyโ€™s Haunted Mansion!).

This monthโ€™s theme feels straight out of Sleepy Hollow or Disneyโ€™s Haunted Mansion, and I couldnโ€™t be more obsessed. Think Victorian frames, enchanted crystal balls, and the kind of design elements that work perfectly for fall, Halloween, or even a Magical Vacation themed scrapbook layout.

These kits are only available for a limited time, and they do sell out fast, so donโ€™t wait too long to subscribe. Read on for a peek at my projects and all the reasons youโ€™ll want to subscribe to Hero Artsโ€™ monthly subscription.

With its Victorian charm, magical motifs, and spooky details, the August Hero Studio kits are perfect for those who enjoy a victorian gothic theme. This mystical card was created with the August “You Are Magic” Stamp & Cut set, and itโ€™s definitely one of my favorites this season. That glowing crystal orb is such a fun focal point!

To bring this project to life, I shaded the base with alcohol markers to give it a realistic wooden texture. To create the magical glowing orb I used a stencil with distress oxide inks. And that stunning starry background? It was created using the free bonus stencil that comes exclusively with the Whole Studio Subscription.

This card would be perfect for an uplifting message or to gift someone who needs a reminder of their inner sparkle. The August “You Are Magic” Stamp & Cut set pairs beautifully with metallics, embossing techniques, or glow-in-the-dark inks!

The August Die Set of the Month, Victorian Frames, has such a beautiful vintage aesthetic. It immediately gave me Ichabod Crane vibes – a little spooky, a little vintage, and a whole lot of creative possibility.

I started with a soft watercolor wash for the background, then added a word paper look with stamping. This design is from the Background Texture Strips stamp set, but you could also try the In the Valley 6×6 Stamp for more visual depth.

The ornate frames were dusted with gold shimmer for an aged, vintage look. I arranged them gallery-style and added some playful Halloween details. The little floral embellishments give it a Dia De Los Muertos vibe with a touch of whimsy. The August Victorian Frames would be incredible in fall scrapbook pages, Haunted Mansion layouts, or even a Halloween home decor project.
