Summer Mountain Memories Scrapbooking Livestream

This year, my goal was to go live once a week to share paper crafting techniques with you during my Crafty Coffee Hour. Since January, I have showcased scrapbooking and card making projects, craft room organization, and I included a Cricut component this month. During this livestream, I demonstrated how easy it is to create a page in Design Space using free SVGs from Cocoa Vanilla Studio.

This captivating Summer Mountain Memories scrapbook layout was crafted using a collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio. Some of the items I used were leftovers from my NJFB kit while others were purchased from the A Cherry on Top.

The livestream was divided into two parts. In the first session, I introduced a free cut file from Cocoa Vanilla and illustrated how to create a page in Cricut Design Space. This lesson included a simple way to alter cut files with the Contour tool and cutting out a large circle in the center of a 12×12 page.

During the second session, I shared the cut images and showed how the page was to be assembled. I demonstrated how I added stitching to the images and shared tips on using embroidery thread.

I also shared tips on achieving balance, such as forming a visual triangle on a page, selecting colors that enhance movement and flow, and ensuring die cuts and stickers seamlessly integrate into the layout.

In my Crafty Coffee Hour livestreams, I enjoy teaching techniques and offering crafting tips. In this particular lesson, I shared ink blending tips and demonstrated how to easily add color to die-cut titles.

I also explained how ink can be used to create shadow layers on a page, such as adding a darker shade of grey to the title for depth. On the sun, I used two shades of yellow ink to create a layered effect.

Looking ahead, I have some exciting plans for future Crafty Coffee Hour sessions. I plan to introduce new techniques, such as mixed media backgrounds and advanced layering with patterned papers. We’ll also explore different ways to incorporate digital elements into traditional scrapbooking, pushing the boundaries of creativity. Your feedback has been invaluable, and I am always eager to hear your suggestions and ideas for future sessions.

I’m so excited to see the projects that you create. Don’t forget to share your finished creations with me. You can leave me a comment below with a direct link or tag @misscarriescreations on your favorite social media site.
