Love Your Stash Day Three | Pocket Cards & Paper

Are you ready to Love Your Stash and start using some of your ever-growing papercraft collection? Throughout February, the Creative Design Team will be showing you unique ways to use your stash, and we are asking you to join us in this challenge. As you complete each weekly challenge, use #cdtloveyourstash when you post your creation.

This week, our Creative Design Team is tackling paper and pocket cards that we have “collected” through the years. I will admit, it was very freeing to grab whatever I wanted to use from my craft space – It allowed me to pull a variety of elements together from both current and past collections to create a page for my daughter.

I began pulling out some Mix-In papers that were collecting dust and paired them with some Wood Grain paper. Mix-Ins are some of my favorite patterns to use, but I often overbuy them because I enjoy them so much.

After creating the background, I reached for some pocket cards that would complement the photo. Lately, my brain has had a difficult time concentrating, and I become easily overwhelmed. As I was trying to figure out PML placement, I became frustrated with my lack of brainpower. Thank goodness I have such a wonderful husband who helped me narrow down the elements for this page.

I chose a few pocket cards from the Bloom with Grace collection along with some black and white cards from an older collection. I honestly have no idea when these are from, but I know that they are from Close to My Heart.

I also added a few stickers from the Bloom with Grace collection to match the theme of the layout. The other elements on this page are from recent and retired die cuts that are stored in my die cut binders. (I talk about these in my video.)

Once all the elements were on the page, I went back the next day to see what needed fixing. I am sure that I am not the only one who does this. Sometimes, I need to walk away from a project and come back to process what changes are needed.

You can view the creation of this layout as you watch my process video.  I show you how I used pocket card as photo mats, titles, and journaling cards.

The Creative Design Team would love for you to join us in our Love Your Stash challenge. If you need a little inspiration, you can view all of our weekly creations on our YouTube channels.  Make sure to subscribe to each channel so that you are notified when we add new videos.
