As we continue through a week of “punny” Valentines, I have been adding my creations to a few weekly challenge blogs. Today, I decided to enter a new challenge at Dragonfly Journeys. If you have been reading my postings, you also know that I have three boys who I still send Valentine’s to, and I have be taking advantage of the dinosaur images and play on words to create an ultra-cheesy Valentine for each one them. Here is the final one in my collection.
After creating the other cards, I was left with a few more dinosaur images in my Something Fierce collection as well as this “Wild About You” sticker which was the perfect sentiment for a Valentine card. As I was creating my card, I began to recall the days when decorated paper bags were once stuffed with ♥silly valentines♥ just like this.
Once I had chosen I sentiment, I decided to layer it atop this adorable brontosaurus die cut. If you look at the set of compliments above, you can see that he originally held a ball. As many of you know, scissors can be a wonderful tool to adjust an image an make it your own. Snip & Stick and your brontosaurus is now holding a heart.♥
After deciding on the background, I realized that the two images weren’t enough for this card, so I cut out the Palm Tree and Pineapple and layered them with a few more hearts onto the front of my card. ♥ Super simple, Super cute, and ready to send off to my son.
I hope that you have enjoyed this collection of punny Valentines using our Something Fierce collection and that you give one of them a try.
♥I can’t wait to see what you create!
Hi Carrie! This is so fun and so sweet and I just adore the non-traditional Valentine green/blue color combination too. Thanks so much for joining my ‘I Heart You’ blog challenge, I hope to see you again soon, and Good Luck 🙂
