Floral dies have always been among my top picks, and I used to buy numerous flower dies over the years to embellish my paper crafts. Lately, I’ve discovered that I can create various flowers by stacking basic shapes found in sets like the Pretty Florals and Leaves dies.

Wildflowers can be easily create with a simple stem die and added dots for a delicate, whimsical flower. You can customize them to match any color scheme, making them a fantastic addition to any project.

By layering purple flowers over a leafy branch die, you can create realistic lilac branches. To mimic the fullness of lilacs, I placed some flowers on foam tape, adding depth and dimension to the layout.

You can also add interest to a page with washi stickers, wooden buttons, and Shimmerz paint. I painted the centers of the larger flower with Shimmerz and layered a flower center die cut over the paint. This little pop of color and shimmer makes a significant impact on the overall design.

You can add texture to your petals with embossing techniques, incorporate vibrant colors with inks and markers, or even use patterned paper for a whimsical effect. This opens up a world of creativity with die cut florals.

Within my florals I added some lovely little butterflies. The washi butterflies were placed on top of vellum, adding weight to the stickers and enabling me to elevate them from the page, creating the illusion of fluttering butterflies. I love the whimsy these add to the page.
