September has arrived, and that means cozy sweaters, colorful leaves, and a brand-new set of Hero Studio Kits! This month’s theme, Fall in the Forest, is packed full of adorable woodland creatures, whimsical fall images, and designs that are perfect for autumn crafting.
Today, I’m sharing three adorable autumn card designs using the Fall is My Favorite Card kit and the Cozy Critters Die Set of the Month. The sweet pumpkin scene, sleepy woodland critters, and an encouraging squirrel are all beginner-friendly designs that are perfect for the season.
REMINDER: These kits are only available for a limited time, and they do sell out fast, so don’t wait too long to subscribe. Read on for a peek at my projects and all the reasons you’ll want to subscribe to Hero Arts’ monthly subscription.
I couldn’t wait to dive into the Fall is My Favorite Card Kit, especially since it comes with a mix of seasonal stamps and a beautiful selection of colored cardstock. This gave me the perfect excuse to pull out my alcohol markers and start coloring. I love adding soft shading to give the stamped images a realistic, yet still whimsical feel.
For my first card, I kept the design simple. I created a die-cut window, stamped a playful leaf background, and added a heat embossed sentiment. The little leaf banner might be my favorite detail. It just screams fall!
My second card has a few more layers. I used the treehouse die set from the kit to cut out the tree and set it against a softly inked blue background. Then I tucked in a few stamped images and finished it off with the “You Got This” sentiment. It was the perfect touch for a card featuring a cheeky squirrel stealing a pumpkin.
The Cozy Critters Die Set completely stole my heart. I couldn’t resist turning it into a sweet baby card! The blanket die included in the set is about four-inches, but I used one of my favorite techniques to extend the design across a slimline card. By partially cutting and then repositioning the die, I was able to repeat the pattern seamlessly. I’ve share this trick multiple times on my YouTube channel.
Once I had the background ready, I added three of the most adorable sleeping critters. I cut them from the leftover cardstock in my card kit and tucked each one into little burrows. It turned out absolutely precious! All that’s left is adding a sentiment once the baby arrives.
If you’re ready to dive into fall crafting, these kits are such a fun way to stay inspired each month. Subscription options start at just $17.50 per month, and you can mix and match your favorites, or go all in with the Whole Studio subscription to get all five kits plus an exclusive bonus each month.
