I am so excited to share this project with you! I have joined the Easter Art to Card Giveaway Hop and I will be showing how to use the Cricut print-then-cut feature to create two spring cards.
Each of the designers in this hop has been given a printable coloring page from Crayola.com and will be using it to create a unique Easter-themed card. This is also a give-away hop, and I will be explaining how the giveaway works at the end of this post.
On this first card, I printed the design onto white cardstock, then cut around the shape with my Cricut. I used the offset tool to cut out the background piece and shaded the image with SpectrumNoir TriBlend markers.
If you are going to shade your printed image with alcohol markers, make sure that your printer ink won’t bleed during the coloring process. I have found that it’s best to print onto a heavy-weight smooth cardstock with an inkjet printer. Most inkjet inks won’t bleed when you use alcohol markers, but make sure that you test them first.
For those who are not a fan of coloring in images, this second project is perfect for you. I used the print-then-cut feature to create a sticker for my shaker card background.
The crayola.com coloring page was printed onto clear sticker paper and cut out on my Cricut machine. It was overlaid onto some printed acetate and turned into this adorable shaker card. I just love that little spring yard scene at the bottom. This card is going to my niece with an Easter gift, and the sentiment is perfect for her.
If you are not familiar with print-then-cut, it is a feature in Design Space that allows you to print out any image, text, or upload and cut it out with your Cricut machine. In my video tutorial, I show how I created each of those cards using this feature.
