Welcome to the Emboss It! CTMH Technique Blog Hop where we will be featuring a variety of projects using embossing techniques.
When it comes to paper crafting, there are two types of embossing techniques – Dry Embossing and Heat Embossing. For my Birthday Wish card, I chose to feature ♥Heat Embossing♥ as I created a “faux” shaker card. I love how well the Mint and Almond play together with the vellum and white embossing powder.
I then placed the three small “fluffs” onto a one-inch block, added a few random stampings, then sprinkled powder again. By stamping in stages, I was able to see where my images would best fit. After heating the embossing powder with a Heat Tool, I splattered Clear Shimmer onto the background.
The sentiment was also heat embossing on Vellum paper that had been inked on the back with Almond Ink. I chose to ink the vellum so that it would match the frame and dull the “whiteness” of the vellum. Once the Stitched frame was added, I adhered Sequins to the background to make it appear like a shaker card. I like how “faux” shaker cards have the look of a true shaker, but less bulk when mailing.
