Christmas Gift Giving Ideas

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving – then Black Friday – then Cyber Monday. All whole week of events leading up to the Holiday Hustle.  Are you starting to panic or are you one of those who have it all together this holiday season? Yeah, me neither. For those of you, like me, who need a few gift giving ideas on a budget, let me help you out.

Many of us are pinching pennies this year, so let me first show you a few items under $5.00. These are some of my favorite products that can be given to almost anyone on your list – yes, even those hard-to-shop-for types.

  • MissCarriesCreations-Under5GiftsMonogram Stamps–  great for those who make  stationary, have planners or journals, work in an office, or just like pretty things
  • Journaling Pens – these come in two colors, three different sizes, and are some of the best writing instruments I’ve used. See my video
  • Complements – stickers, tags, and labels
  • Stickles – most crafty types are fans of anything that resembles glitter. These are great for kids to use, too.

So, what about those non-crafty types on your list.  Guess what?! I have some ideas for those people, too.

Simple Photo Journals to Record ALL your Memories🎄

How many times have you looked at old photos wishing you had written down the story associated with them? Everyone feels this way, and everyone should have a simple photo journal to record those memories. SEE MY VIDEO HERE

Budget Friendly Supplies for Artists of All Ages🎄

Art supplies can be found anywhere, but these are some that I personally enjoy. Not only are they budget friendly, but the makers in your family will love finding them under the tree.

Waterbrushes are great for those who travel and mom’s who don’t want a cup of inky water spilled on their table. Those moms would also adore you for getting their little artist an All Purpose Mat which can take just about any amount of messiness. (see video) Of course those who love to color would adore the new TriBlend Markers – three colors in one pen – and all the new Shimmer Brush colors. (see my Shimmer Brush video)

These are just a FEW of the many items available on my website. I will be showing more in the coming week. If you are a member of my VIP Group, you will have a chance to see some last minute gift ideas and a few gifts you can create.

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving & I can’t wait to see what you create!

It’s All Sunshine & Roses ~ A Color My Heart Color Dare Card

Sometimes we all need a little “pick-me-up” and, after the week I have had, I needed to be able to retreat to my workspace and create something that would bring me a little sunshine.  I was inspired by the bright color choices in this week’s Color My Heart Dare Challenge, and I hope that they inspire you to create something that brings you joy. MissCarriesCreations-CD340.jpg

This color palette is one of my favorites and you will know this the minute you walk into my workspace. You can only imagine my excitement when our Design Team was shown this challenge. Unfortunately, I was not able to create what I had originally planned. Life took over and family came first, so I put aside some of my planning and ended up with a card that helped bring me a little happiness.

Doesn’t this simple card just make you smile? It’s all Sunshine & Roses which is something I needed this week.  I love the simplicity of the design and how easily it all came together. I began by using up some scraps from my Zoe paper packet (love those dots) and matched it with a lagoon cardstock background. Since my time was limited, I decided that I would pull a sentiment sticker from the So Much Happy complements to fit the colors of the card. This is something I often do when I am in a rush and need a quick sentiment.

I have been dying to use our Watercolor Die Cuts. These are floral images printed on watercolor paper designed for you to use with any color palette you are working with. Since my color palette already consisted of Sorbet and Lagoon, I decided to throw in a little Candy Apple for contrast on my roses.

When it came time to assemble it all together, I wanted to make sure that the Roses stood out and that you could still see that adorable dotted Zoe paper, so I chose to use Vellum with a Stitched Rectangle Frame. What do you think of this look?

I hope that this week’s Sunshine & Roses card has inspired you to join us at the Color My Heart Dare challenge.  Our Design Team always looks forward to your projects and is often inspired by YOU, and what you make.

Don’t forget, all of the supplies that I used on this card will be GONE after April 30th. Make sure to visit my website and grab some that cute Zoe paper, Watercolor Die Cuts, and the So Much Happy Complements before they are gone.

I can’t wait to see what you create!

Fall is all about snuggling at home, preparing for cold weather, and taking time for family. The busyness of summer is ending and it’s time to remember, once again, how blessed we are. The Thanks & Giving stamp set reminds me of all those fall feelings – home, full hearts, gatherings, and togetherness. product imageThis week, to express my thankfulness, I decided to create a lovely Sunflower Thank You card using Texture Paste, Watercolors, and our Thanks & Giving Stamp of the Month.

I really enjoy how this card turned out – something outside of my “normal” designs. Recently, I have been experimenting with our Texture Paste products, and I have been surprised at how easy they are to use and I am blown-away by the results.

To create the Sunflower, I used an image from Flower Market and cut out the stencil from our Stencil Sheets.  When creating stencils in Design Space™,  you have to be able to think ahead at the negative space you are using for the image. It takes a little bit of practice, but the results are always worth it.  I applied the Texture Paste image directly to our Cold Pressed Watercolor Paper, then, after it dried, I added color with Watercolor Paints.

I used the Thanks & Giving stamp set to stamp foliage along the base and to create the sentiment which was heat embossed with White Embossing Powder.  I added some New England Ivy Burlap Ribbon, which I separated, then assembled the card.  Do you like it? Do you want to give it a go?

Now ‘Hop” on over to Ronda La Duke’s blog to see her work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their blogs to get some great crating tips and other fun ideas. Remember, the Thanks & Giving stamp set is only available until October 31st! Contact your CTMH Consultant, or visit the Promotions tab of my website to see how you can get this stamp set for only $5.00.  I can’t wait to see what you create!
