Create a Fall Fest Layout using the March Craft with Heart Kit

Each month, I have been posting a layout I created using the materials from the Craft with Heart Kits along with a process video showing you how to alter these kits to fit your photos. If you have not had a chance to take a look at these monthly subscription kits, now is the perfect time to do so.  Each one is mailed directly to you, is ready-to-assemble, and you only need adhesive to put the kits together.

Let me show you how I used the March Yesterday & Today kit.

Most of the materials I used to complete this scrapbook layout are included in the March Craft with Heart kit.  When I looked at the photos I had of my children after Fall Fest, I was inspired by the brown tones, fall wheat, and the “Hold Tight” title. Since I am recording my memories twenty years after the photos were taken, that phrase made me want to record a few additional memories of how I feel today.

Here is what the original layouts are designed to look like.

To create my Fall Fest layout, I used the pre-printed background sheets and a few elements from the first layout, along with some Yesterday and Today papers & stickers.  Each one of these subscription kits are designed to match our current paper packs, so you can add more elements to your pages or add additional matching pages to your album using the current patterns.

I also snagged a few elements from the second kit. The photo frame, script photo mat, and “list” were added to my page. These elements matched my design and enhanced my photos.  Do you see any other changes I made to my layout?

My favorite element is that little pocket. I created it by using a portion of Yesterday & Today paper that looked just like a postcard.  After stitching it down to the page, I filled it will little embellishments and my journaling card.

I hope that you were inspired to try something new and take a look at our Craft with Heart Scrapbook Kits.  As you can see, each one is full of possibility and they are conveniently mailed to your home. If you happen to have a little extra crafting time, which most of us do right now, then these kits are a great way to catch up on some of your scrapbook albums.  Take a look at how inexpensive they are.

Yes, you read that right! With the yearly subscription, you are paying less than $7.20 a kit! You even get FREE SHIPPING.  As an added bonus – anyone who signs up for the yearly subscription this month, will receive a FREE Journaling pen in the mail from me as a special thank you gift.

Here is a List of the Supplies Use on My Project

Create a Folded Chevron Border for Your Scrapbook Layout

Welcome to another Creative Design Team Video Colab!  This month, we are treating you to a variety of Fancy Fold designs you can make using your Close to My Heart products.  For my Fancy Fold project, I am showing you how to use the Yesterday & Today papers to make this Folded Chevron border. There is even a Cricut tutorial you can follow, showing you how to create this border in Design Space.

Please take a few minutes to Subscribe to my channel & hit the Thumbs Up button if you enjoyed the video

The base for this layout was created by splattering two pieces of French Vanilla cardstock with Almond Ink and Gold Shimmer in a spray pen. I used the same ink mixture to create some distressed butterflies.  After spraying the Art Philosophy cut butterflies, I carefully scrunched them up, then opened them up flat to dry.

Once I had adhered all the background paper strips down, I began creating the Chevron Border.  In my video I show you how to fold each piece by hand, but I found that creating the pieces in Design Space was more efficient, plus it gave me an excuse to play with my new Cricut Maker.

The Vintage Family layout came together quickly and was easy to embellish using the Yesterday & Today Stickers, Vellum Die Cuts, and Foil Die Cuts.  This is one of my favorite parts of creating a layout – adding all the layers of beautiful vintage designs.

Here is a little tip: Follow the “Rule of Threes” when you are adding your die cuts.

If you look at my layout above, you can see that the butterflies, vellum shapes, and stickers all form a triangle.  This allows the eye to flow through the layout and give it a balanced  design.

I hope that you enjoyed today’s project and that you were inspired to try this Fancy Fold Chevron Border.  After you have viewed my tutorial, make sure to continue through the rest of the Creative Design Team videos.

Create a Vintage Chic Layout

If you are a subscriber to my blog, you had the opportunity to see the layout I created for the Stamp of the Month blog hop using the NEW Yesterday & Today products.  My post promised a process video tutorial showing you how I made my Vintage Chic layout. Many have been waiting with much anticipation for the tutorial, and, today, my friends, that video is ready for you to view.

I have also created a list of all the supplies I used on this layout for you at the very bottom of this post. These products are only available for a limited time. Our Family Legacy Stamp set is an exclusive stamp set during the March, so you will need to purchase it before March 31st if you wish to use it to create this layout.

As you saw in the video and read in my previous blog post, there are so many wonderful elements on this page.  I am a sucker for vintage, old-world finds and these Yesterday & Today products fell right into my love of old things.

Not only did I use those beautiful papers on my Vintage Vibe scrapbook layout, I was able to take advantage of the gorgeously designed Vellum Die cuts.  These come apart from the backing sheet so easily and can be used as is or shaded to match your project.

On my scrapbook page, I chose to leave them as is and layer them behind a few of the elements I added to my page.

I hope that you enjoyed today’s video tutorial and that it inspired you to create a few projects using our Yesterday & Today papers. Like the Family Legacy stamp set, these products are available for a limited time.  They are scheduled to be on my website through April 30th, but we all know that well-loved items sell fast from the catalog.  If you wish to create a layout like this, make sure to order your Yesterday & Today items before they are sold out.
