Christmas Gift Card Pockets

For the Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge

As Christmas draws nearer, I am often scrambling to find some simple gifts to make that  required little effort and are easy on the budget. As I was playing with the Cedar & Pine papers, I realized that each of the patterns would work perfectly for some gift card pockets I wanted to create, and, coincidentally, we just happen to be using those same colors from Cedar & Pine collection at the Color My Heart Dare blog, this week.

You can choose to use any of the colors on this week’s Tic-Tac-Toe board as well as any other neutrals, and your project(s) need to be linked to the site before December 19th.

Almost everyone on my list enjoys getting gift cards and these sweet little pockets were super simple to make using the Buttoned Up Thin Cuts.  If you have some people on your list who you give gift cards to, I have written some step-by-step instructions for you, and created a simple process video for you to view so that you can create some of your own.

Gift Card Pocket Assembly Instructions”
1. Place the 7½” x 3¾” Cedar & Pine Paper with the shorter side at the top of the paper cutter/score board and score at  ¼” on each of the longer sides.

2. Rotate the paper 90° so that the longer side is at the top and score at 3¾”.

3. Cut along the ¼” score lines a little bit past the to the 3¾” score line. Cut at an angle to create the tabs.

4. Fold in the two tabs, apply adhesive to the tabs, then fold up at the 3¾” line to close the gift card pocket.

5. Once the pockets are complete, you can decorate them with the Buttoned Up Thin Cuts, Stickles, and Shimmer Brushes as I did.

I hope that today’s project has inspired you to try something new and join us for this week’s Tic-Tac-Toe Color Dare Challenge.  If you would like to see how each one of these little gems was made, I have created a short process video for you to enjoy.

These Buttoned Up Thin Cuts dies are available for a limited time and are currently low in quantity. If you would like to purchase yourself a set to use on these Christmas Gift Card Pockets and to create my Holiday Treasures Treat Holders, you will want to snag yourself a set soon.

♥ I can’t wait to see what you create!

Christmas Gift Giving Ideas

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving – then Black Friday – then Cyber Monday. All whole week of events leading up to the Holiday Hustle.  Are you starting to panic or are you one of those who have it all together this holiday season? Yeah, me neither. For those of you, like me, who need a few gift giving ideas on a budget, let me help you out.

MissCarriesCreations-GiftGivingIdeas.png

Many of us are pinching pennies this year, so let me first show you a few items under $5.00. These are some of my favorite products that can be given to almost anyone on your list – yes, even those hard-to-shop-for types.

  • MissCarriesCreations-Under5GiftsMonogram Stamps–  great for those who make  stationary, have planners or journals, work in an office, or just like pretty things
  • Journaling Pens – these come in two colors, three different sizes, and are some of the best writing instruments I’ve used. See my video
  • Complements – stickers, tags, and labels
  • Stickles – most crafty types are fans of anything that resembles glitter. These are great for kids to use, too.

So, what about those non-crafty types on your list.  Guess what?! I have some ideas for those people, too.

Baby Book Kits for New Moms & Grandparents🎄

The Story Begins Kit includes TEN pre-cut, ready to assemble pages to journal about your baby’s first year. All you need is adhesive, a pen, and an album to put them into. MissCarrie'sCreations-NewMoms.png

Simple Photo Journals to Record ALL your Memories🎄

How many times have you looked at old photos wishing you had written down the story associated with them? Everyone feels this way, and everyone should have a simple photo journal to record those memories. SEE MY VIDEO HERE

Budget Friendly Supplies for Artists of All Ages🎄

Art supplies can be found anywhere, but these are some that I personally enjoy. Not only are they budget friendly, but the makers in your family will love finding them under the tree.

Waterbrushes are great for those who travel and mom’s who don’t want a cup of inky water spilled on their table. Those moms would also adore you for getting their little artist an All Purpose Mat which can take just about any amount of messiness. (see video) Of course those who love to color would adore the new TriBlend Markers – three colors in one pen – and all the new Shimmer Brush colors. (see my Shimmer Brush video)

These are just a FEW of the many items available on my website. I will be showing more in the coming week. If you are a member of my VIP Group, you will have a chance to see some last minute gift ideas and a few gifts you can create.

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving & I can’t wait to see what you create!

Create Cards with Every Little Thing

Today, you get a little sneak peek at a few products in the upcoming catalog.  Our Every Little Thing products are full of beautiful colors, patterns, and designs. If you are a Close to My Heart consultant, like me, you have the opportunity to play with all of the products one month before the new catalog arrives.  Creating with Every Little Thing has brought so much joy into my craft space. Are you ready to see what I have made?

MissCarriesCreations-SeptemberCoffee&Cards

Each season, we have multiple card-making kits for you to purchase in the Seasonal Expressions catalog, and, starting September 1st, you get THIN CUTS with your kit.  This time, instead of creating the cards as shown,  I chose to go off the rails a little and create some fancy fold cards using the supplies that came in the Every Little Thing Cardmaking Kit.

Aren’t they just darling? I had so much fun creating these for my upcoming workshops.  For those of you who live locally, you can learn how to create each of these cards at my Coffee & Cards workshop on September 7th.

I will be offering multiple Creative Classroom Classes this season where you can learn from the comfort of your home. MissCarriesCreations-FancyFoldCards.jpg
