Creating St. Patrick’s Day Decor

For the H2H Color Challenge

Welcome to our first March Heart2Heart challenge.  This week, we are teaming up with Double Trouble and challenging you to play with the color green. Now, this doesn’t mean that you have to create a St. Patrick’s Day themed design like I did, but you do need to use the color green and link your project to the Heart2Heart blog before March 31st.

Saint Patrick’s Day🍀 is one of my favorite holidays, so when I saw that our Design Team was tasked with using the color green, I decided that I wanted to create something for this challenge to share my love of the holiday and use up my crafting stash before I dove into my NEW Catalog products.  Today, I want to share with you how I used a few of my leftover holiday products to create this adorable Friendship Clover for my home.

Like many of you, I often over order products thinking that I will use them, only to realize that I now have a pile of extra items in my craft space collecting dust.  This past year, I promised myself to reduce the excess and start using up what I have, and I was able to do just that with some Christmas Mix-Ins paper and a Be Mine Banner kit

I started by cutting out each of the hearts from the green plaid Christmas Mix-Ins paper. There are two ways to do this. If you purchased the banner and own a cutting making, like a Cricut, you can upload the SVG image and cut out the heart image that came with the Be Mine banner kit. (If you do not know how to do this, you can view my video)

If you do not own a cutting machine, you can simply trace the wood hearts onto the back of the paper and cut out the hearts by hand.  Once I had all the images cut, I adhered them to the hearts using ModPodge.  The center heart was cut from our new Mix-In paper, and a smaller heart was stamped and adhered to the center.

Once the project was complete, I placed the clover onto a wood and metal sign and hung it up in my home.

I hope that this project has inspired you to try something new and join us for another Heart2Heart Challenge.  Remember, you do not have to create a Saint Patrick’s Day project, but you do need to use the color green and link your project before March 31st.

Come Create at My March Classes

I have quite a few upcoming events planned just for you in the coming weeks including a Christmas Card class, Spring Home Decor class, and multiple Cricut classes.  Each one is available as a local and online class that you can come and create at.  I can’t wait to share each one with you.

Let Me Tell You How My Classes Work

  • If you are attending a local class, you will need to register online and pre-pay for the class.  Once I have received your registration & payment, you will receive a confirmation email reserving your spot and kit.
  • If you are attending an online class, you will register online and pre-pay if necessary (some classes are free with purchases from my website). In your confirmation email you will receive a link to a PRIVATE Facebook group full of content for you to learn from including cutting guides, videos, and a live video. This content is available to you for 45 days so that you can refer to it as often as needed.

I like to make sure that each class teaches you new techniques and ways to use your supplies. It is important that you “leave” each class with a completed project and are inspired to try something new.
