There have been so many wonderful products arriving on my doorstep this fall, and it has been hard to choose which ones to use on a project.  It’s like information overload – or crafty goodness overload – in my craft space.  Today, I decided to pull out some new Thin Cuts dies that I purchased in August and showcase them behind some images I created using the beautiful With All My Love stamp set

The French Vanilla and White Glitter background for this card was created using our new Layered Floral Background thin cuts.  These metal dies come in a set of three and are designed to help you to create this beautiful layered background for your card. Isn’t it just stunning?

I love how simple this background was to make! All you have to do is choose the three colors of paper, cardstock, or specialty paper you want to use and the dies cut out perfect 4¼” x 5½” backgrounds that you can layer together for an incredible effect.

After assembling the background, I added a strip of Floral Mix-Ins paper wrapped in Gold Embellishing Thread and tucked two leaves behind the paper strip.  The large Maple leaf was cut from Toffee paper using our Leaves Thin Cuts and stamped using the “heart” image on the With All My Love stamp set.  The second leaf was stamped in Cinnamon using the Textured Leaf stamp set.

The flowers were also created using the With All My Love stamp set.  I stamped the images in Intense Black Ink, then used Desert Rose, Cinnamon, Sundance, and Avocado inks with a waterbrush to shade the images. I plan on showing this technique in my VIP Community Group this month.

After the ink had dried, I splattered the flowers with a Toffee Shimmer brush, cut them out, and layered them onto the card using foam tape. I had debated adding some stickles to the center of the flowers, but I am glad I chose to keep them as is.

The sentiment on this card was heat embossed onto vellum using Clear Embossing Powder and Cinnamon Ink, then tucked behind the flowers. To finish the design, I placed a few loops of Gold Embellishing Thread behind the flowers and added some White Flower Sequins to the card.  Those little flowers have become a new favorite of mine. They are so sweet and delicate looking and add just the right amount of elegance to a project.

I hope that this Fall Florals card inspired to to try something new and give a few of these techniques a try.  Now ‘Hop” on over to the talented Brandi Robinson’s Blog to see her work!

Autumn Air SOTM Blog Hop

Welcome to the Autumn Air October SOTM Blog Hop where we will be featuring our Autumn Air stamp set. 70189997_10156748261022686_1493579176446263296_n.jpgIf you have come here from Gina Brandstetter’s blog, you are on the right path!  When you are finished reading my post, you can click on the link at the end to move to the next blog. Today is one the first days that it has felt like fall.🍂The temperature is dropping, the leaves are full of colors, and there is moisture in the air. Not only did this put me in the mood for some chili & cinnamon rolls, it re-energized my creative desire to make something for fall. Doesn’t this layout just make you want to take a walk through the autumn leaves?MissCarriesCreations-AutumnAirLayoutSM

I chose to use the Hawthorn & Mix-In paper packs for this layout, as well as the Hawthorn Stickers, Wood Shapes, & Complements. I have provided you with a complete list of the supplies I used at the very bottom of this post as well as an easy to follow process video.

I love how well our Layered Leaves Thin Cuts dies complement this layout. After cutting each one out from cardstock & patterned paper, I stitched them along the left side of the layout. I also used the same leaves on various parts of the page.

The vellum title was created using a heat embossing technique and then attached to the page using Liquid Glass that was hidden behind White Dots I shaded with a TriBlend Marker.  This is a great way to create embellishments to match your projects and an easy way to hide the glue behind the vellum.

To see how I made this title, as well as the layout watch the video below. Please let me know what you think of this process video.  I have just started getting my feet wet with this “YouTube thing” and am hoping to create a few more of these in the future.

Now ‘Hop” on over to Alyson Mayo’s blog to see her work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their blogs to get some great crafting tips and other fun ideas. I can’t wait to see what you create!
