Spring Flowers Bunny Card

The February Stamp of the Month, Easter Bunny, can be used to create some adorable cards for spring or Easter. This week’s card could be made for any occasion by simply changing the sentiment.  I’ll be sharing project ideas each week with this stamp set, so be sure to visit often.  At the very bottom of this post, I’ve included a list of the products I’ve used to create this card.bunnycardone

Black Magic Rose Card

I have always wanted to try “Black Magic”- a technique where you use colored pencils on Black cardstock.  This weeks Color My Heart Dare gave me a reason to try it out for the first time. At the very bottom of this post, I’ve included a list of the products I’ve used to create this project.ColorDare229.jpg

The technique was simple, yet, it created a fabulous image. I use White Embossing Powder to heat emboss the Rose image, then, using our Bubblegum and Hydrangea Watercolor pencils, I added two layers of color.  The background was kept simple to showcase the Rose image. I wanted to repeat the shimmer from the silver twine onto the stamped image, so I used our Clear Shimmer Brush Pen to add shimmer on the leaves. It’s a very striking piece of art once finished.  I would love to see anything you have created using the “Black Magic” technique.

Valentine Chocolates Box

Valentine’s Day is a few weeks away, and it’s time to start creating. Over the next few weeks, I will be posting some quick and easy gifts you can make for your family, friends, and co-workers. This Valentine Chocolates Box  idea came from Splitcoaststampers and it is a fun project to make for Valentine’s Day. (These would also make cute wedding favors.) At the very bottom of this post, I’ve included a list of the products I’ve used to create this project.

Paper Needed: 4¼” x 8″ Cardstock (I used Sea Glass), 2″ x 8¼” B&T Paper (I used Hello Lovely), ½” x 2¼” B&T Paper ( I used a Hello Lovely Zip-Strip), 2″ x 4″ White Daisy Cardstock

Assembly Instructions:
1. Using the scoring blade on the paper cutter, score the short side of your cardstock
at 1″ and 3¼”.
2. Rotate the cardstock 90°. Using the scoring blade on the paper cutter, score the long side at 2″, 3″, 5″ and 6″.
3. To create your box flap, cut off the outer strips 3″ up on one end.
4. Fold up each of the score lines and use a bone folder to crease score lines.
5. Cut to the the 1″ score lines on both sides.
6. Apply adhesive to the back of to the 1″ tabs and fold up to attach the tabs to the bottom tabs creating the base of the box.
7. Apply adhesive to both 1″ x 2″ strips next to the box flap, fold over, and bring the sides together to form the box.

8. Trim to top flap to 1″. Using a scallop border punch or scallop scissors, create the scallop edge on the top flap. Adhere the the ½” x 2¼” B&T Paper onto the flap.
9. Wrap the 2″ x 8¼” B&T Paper around the box front and back. It will overlap a little.
10. Using the Thin Cuts, cut out one Wavy Banner and a Heart from the 2″ x 4″ White Daisy Cardstock.
11. Using Sea Glass Ink, stamp the Dotted Heart image onto the Heart cut-out. .Using Black ink, stamp the smaller Heart Outline image inside the Dotted Heart.
12. Using Black Ink, stamp the Banner image and sentiment onto the White Daisy Cardstock. (Note: Bend the sentiment to the shape of the banner before applying ink.)
13. Adhere the Banner to the bottom of the box front.
14. To create the closure, apply 3D Foam Tape to the bottom half of the stamped Heart image. Attach the heart above the banner, in the center of the box. The flap will tuck behind the heart to hold the box closed.
