If you’re like me, you probably have phone full of pet photos and a stack of pet-shaped stamps. Well, my friend, it’s time to dig all of those out of your stash, and start creating for our Pet-Pourri challenge♥. Our Design Team has created quite a few pet-loving projects for you to enjoy at the Heart2Heart challenge blog. Before I show you what I made this week, I want to remind you that this challenge is open all month long. Just make sure to link your project before April 30th.
Remember how I said that I have a phone full of pet photos? My kids will vouch for the fact that there are more photos of this sweet fur baby than there are of the humans. 🤣 Now that the kids are grown and not around as much, this little pup gets most of my attention, which would account for all the photos of her. These are some I took of her last summer when we took her fishing.
Our little miss is quite the character.♥ She was fascinated with the crayfish in the mud and equally curious with the fish wiggling at the end of the chain. When I decided to start recording these memories, I was searching for a new technique to try and, wouldn’t you know it, SG Scrap Squad was doing a challenge this weekend.
The inspiration for that starburst, came from a sketch they published for the challenge from the November 2015 issue. I chose to create mine from some These are My People papers & a few patterns from our Mix-Ins.
After creating the starburst and adding the photos, I began looking for embellishments. I knew that I had a crayfish (lobster) from an older collection, some fish from the Seas the Day stickers, and some elements from These Are My People – what I didn’t know was how I was going to pull all those pieces together♥.
I decided to grab some Kraft paper and add it behind the starburst then frame the photo in Sapphire Blue. This matched both the crayfish and the sentiment stickers.
To tie the whole layout together, I added that large torn paper sticker from the These Are My People sticker sheet. To me it looked like water, making it the perfect addition to the layout. I added a few elements to the top of the page for the title and the layout was complete.
I hope that you were inspired by this Sweet Furry Fisherman layout♥ and that you plan to join us for our Pet-Pourri challenge at Heart2Heart.
