Hearts & Clovers

In case you were not aware, St. Patrick’s Day is coming. 🙂  This week for my Die-Namite Blog Hop project, I created a charming card using our Basic Hearts Thin Cuts to create a four-leave clover.  I had so much fun making the card for the blog hop, that I decided to create a few more cards for St. Patrick’s Day using our Thin Cuts and patterned papers.  You can find a complete list of the supplies I used on these cards at that very bottom of this post.

BasicHeartsCloverCards

On each of these cards, I used our Basic Hearts Thin Cuts to make the clovers.  These Heart dies come in four sizes – 2½”, 2″, 1½”, and 1″.  During our Die-namite sale, you can purchase just the Basic Heart Thin Cuts set for only $9.71 or  purchase the Basic Shapes Thin Cut Bundle which includes not only the Basic Hearts, but the Basic Ovals, Basic Stars, and Basic Circles sets at an AMAZING SAVINGS.

Both of these cards were super-simple to make.  The Lucky Clover card was created using papers from the Chelsea Gardens collection withthe 1½” and 1″ Basic Heart Thin Cuts, then the “Lucky” Artbooking sentiment was cut from Gold Foil Paper and added to the card along with Gold Shimmer, Gold Ribbon, and Gold Gems.  To create the second card, I used a sentiment from the Gimme Some Sugar complements which looked like something an Irish grandma might say to her grandchildren.  The 1½” and 1″ Basic Hearts were cut from matching patterned papers and formed into the clover shape.

Don’t forget that during the month of March, our Basic Hearts Thin cuts are available at a considerable discount.  Our Die-Namite sale is defiantly one that you will want to take advantage of to stock up on our Thin Cuts dies, bundles, and stamp + thin cut sets.   Unfortunately, they will only be on sale through March 31st, while supplies lastso make sure you visit my website and order your Thin Cuts before they are gone for good.

I can’t wait to see what you create with our Thin Cuts!

Birthday Time Layout

Birthdays are major events for some, happy days for others, and a way to celebrate another year on earth with your family and friends.  This “One Year Older” layout is a great way to showcase those photos celebrating another year blessed.  Throughout the month of March, I will be posting birthday themed projects using our Birthday Time stamp of the month that you can use as inspiration.  As always, the list of supplies used on this layout can be found at the very bottom of this post.

Wherever I go through my paper scraps, I have found that most of it includes our PML (Picture My Life) papers. These pages have been designed for pocket scrapbooking, but they are also great to use as photos mats, on card fronts, and, as I did, to decorate a scrapbook page.

Here are a few ways that I used my leftover Chelsea Gardens PML cards:
• The Diagonal PML was used as the background for the “One Year Older” title. It wasn’t quite long enough, so I cut it in half and used part above and part below the image.
• I included the Grey Dotted PML in the background.  My background was designed using a hodgepodge of paper scraps including some PML cards and zip-strips –  kind of like a crazy quilt.
• Since the Complements are a dark grey, I needed a way to create some matching paper strips for the “It’s Your Birthday” embellishment.  The dark grey on the “True Story” PML matched perfectly.
• I wanted a place to include journaling, so I cut up the “Lined Butterfly” PML to the size I needed, stamped “Date”, and added it to the layout with some Complements.

I added a few more embellishments using the Birthday Time stamp set, along with the Basic Banners, Scallop Border and Oval Thin Cuts. (Don’t forget that these Thin Cuts are on sale this month, while supplies last.)

The Birthday Time stamp set is available for purchase on my website through March 31st.  You can purchase it for $17.95 or for only $5.00 with a qualifying $50.00 purchase.  I will be posting more projects using this stamp set throughout the month, so make sure to visit often.  I can’t wait to see what you create!
