It’s All Sunshine & Roses ~ A Color My Heart Color Dare Card

Sometimes we all need a little “pick-me-up” and, after the week I have had, I needed to be able to retreat to my workspace and create something that would bring me a little sunshine.  I was inspired by the bright color choices in this week’s Color My Heart Dare Challenge, and I hope that they inspire you to create something that brings you joy. MissCarriesCreations-CD340.jpg

This color palette is one of my favorites and you will know this the minute you walk into my workspace. You can only imagine my excitement when our Design Team was shown this challenge. Unfortunately, I was not able to create what I had originally planned. Life took over and family came first, so I put aside some of my planning and ended up with a card that helped bring me a little happiness.

Doesn’t this simple card just make you smile? It’s all Sunshine & Roses which is something I needed this week.  I love the simplicity of the design and how easily it all came together. I began by using up some scraps from my Zoe paper packet (love those dots) and matched it with a lagoon cardstock background. Since my time was limited, I decided that I would pull a sentiment sticker from the So Much Happy complements to fit the colors of the card. This is something I often do when I am in a rush and need a quick sentiment.

I have been dying to use our Watercolor Die Cuts. These are floral images printed on watercolor paper designed for you to use with any color palette you are working with. Since my color palette already consisted of Sorbet and Lagoon, I decided to throw in a little Candy Apple for contrast on my roses.

When it came time to assemble it all together, I wanted to make sure that the Roses stood out and that you could still see that adorable dotted Zoe paper, so I chose to use Vellum with a Stitched Rectangle Frame. What do you think of this look?

I hope that this week’s Sunshine & Roses card has inspired you to join us at the Color My Heart Dare challenge.  Our Design Team always looks forward to your projects and is often inspired by YOU, and what you make.

Don’t forget, all of the supplies that I used on this card will be GONE after April 30th. Make sure to visit my website and grab some that cute Zoe paper, Watercolor Die Cuts, and the So Much Happy Complements before they are gone.

I can’t wait to see what you create!

Zoe Blog Hop

Welcome to the Zoe Blog Hop where we will be featuring some delightful projects created with our Zoe Paper Collection. 57451166_10156402517817686_3140454059333386240_nIf you have come here from Melinda Everitt’s blog, you are on the right path!  When you are finished reading my post, you can click on the link at the end to move to the next site. This blog hop is simple, fun, and full of ideas from some very talented Close to My Heart consultants. If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melinda’s Blog.

The Zoe paper pack was one of my favorites the first time around and, I am once again, sad to see it go at the end of April.  This adorable set of papers and stickers is full of happiness and sunshine. When I saw the little “Camera” in the sticker packet, I knew that I needed to use it to create a layout with some fun photos of my kiddos that were found on my phone years ago.

How many of you have photos just like this?? Our kids snag our phones, play with the filters, make silly faces, and we end of finding them later.  I know that many of you post them to social media or upload them online, but have you ever considered printing them to record your thoughts and memories?

This is exactly what I chose to do. I wanted to record the memories of when I found the photos, record the relationship between these two goofballs, and record the fun many kids of their age have with cellphones. The stickers in the Zoe Paper Packet and  So Much Happy Complements were perfect for adding some of those thoughts to the page.

I not only used stickers to add to my journaling, but I chose to add some fun statements to a Filmstrip Border I created using our Artistry collection. As a special gift, to you for stopping by my blog, you can have a copy of this Design Space™ file to create your own Filmstrip border.

We often think of these photos as an everyday occurrence, but there will be a day that your kiddos no longer “sneak” silly photos for you to find. There will be a day when that silliness is gone and their relationship matures, and they are no longer big goofballs with their mom’s cell phone.

This is why we record our memories.

Now ‘Hop” on over to Gina Brandstetter’s blog to see her artwork! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their blogs to get some great crafting tips and other fun ideas. Remember, the Zoe Collection is only available while supplies last through April 30th. Contact your CTMH Consultant, or visit my website to order this delightful set before it’s gone.

Did You Forget Anything?

Forgetfulness: absent minded and loss of memory.   This squirrel  brained, coffee drinking mama is constantly forgetting things like checking-out BEFORE a sale is over, or signing up for a class I wanted to take BEFORE the due date, or how many chocolate eggs I just ate while typing this post. Sound familiar?

Before you try to remember what you might have forgotten, let me help you out with a few end-of-the month reminders.

We have FIVE amazing specials this month that you may have glanced over and said “Oh! I need that” then ran to chase a beast through your house who just ate something they shouldn’t. Sooo…before the beast returns, here is a quick run-down.
