St. Patrick’s Day Inspiration ~ A Color My Heart Dare Challenge

We have a new challenge for you at Color My Heart Dare. This time, we are asking you be inspired by this St. Patrick’s Day mood board and create something that reminds you of this upcoming “Irish” holiday.

When my children were young, St. Patrick’s Day was celebrated with Leprechaun traps, gold candy, glittery foot prints, and a huge meal. Now that they are grown, we still have a family meal, but the red bearded folks aren’t as keen on the glitter. I am still enamored by all that sparkles and was inspired by all the clover images to create a Thank You card in Design Space™ using images from our CTMH Cricut™ Collections.

I like adding various textures and layers on my projects, so I chose to use Watercolor paper for the sentiment and flowers. After they were cut, I used a Watercolor Pencil and Waterbrush to shade each of the images. Being able to add that little bit of color gave the look of “gold” without overpowering the card. As an added layer, I made my Clovers three-dimensional by “slicing” the images in Design Space™, then folding them before attaching to the card.

I added a simple Gold and Green Butterfly image, a Kraft paper wreath and layered it atop Gold Foil paper and Clover cardstock. Simple, sweet, and ready to send off.

I will be giving this file away FREE to anyone who places an online order in March or participates in this St. Patrick’s Day inspired Color My Heart Dare Challenge. Simply comment below with your challenge link and email address, and I will send the file to you. (You will need to own the images I used on this project to make the card. The butterfly is a stamped image, but I have placed a cut image in the file if you wish to use it instead.)

I hope you were inspired by this project and that it causes you to share your own creation in the Color My Heart Dare challenge.

I can’t wait to see what you create!

You Are Loved ~ A Weekly Challenge Card

I have decided to finish of my week of crafting by creating a card for a few online paper crafting challenges. I enjoy how these online challenges require me to try something new and create a project I might not otherwise make, like this You Are Loved card. MissCarriesCreations-LovedBloomedCardI began my search for adventure at the Heart2Heart I Heart Us challenge where we were to use the I Heart Us paper pack or photos that show how much love we have for those people in them. On my card, I decided to use the Heart pattern from the I Heart Us paper pack and pair it with the “You Are Loved” sentiment. This card will be one I give to someone who I truly care about.

My next stop was the Double Trouble challenge – one I have been meaning to enter. This week they are teaming up with the Use Your Stuff challenge, requiring us to choose elements on a Tic-Tac-Toe board and produce✨something magical.✨

I decided to include silver, a sentiment, and a die on my card. The silver is very subtle with a bit of Silver Embellishing Thread, Silver Gems and some Silver Shimmer added to my rose and butterfly images.

I love how that little butterfly from the Butterfly Friendship set is tucked under the rose image – making it appear almost ✨magical✨ as it starts to fly off the card. This stamp set has a delightful watercolor background for each image and a matching die set that makes cutting out the images a breeze.

Joining these challenges is simple and fun. I would love to see some of your creations this month. You can choose to join the Heart2Heart, Double Trouble, or Color My Heart Dare challenges and be inspired to try something new.

I can’t wait to see what you create!
