A Floral Wreath For Your Home

Do you enjoy creating personalized home decor for your space? Close to My Heart created an amazing wooden wreath kit that I fell in love with and wanted to create for my home.  After looking through the kit, I realized how easy it would be to personalize to match my decor.

Each All Around Creativity Kit comes with a sixteen-inch wooden wreath, laser cut flowers and leaves, and an easy-to-assemble bow. Since I wanted to personalize this for my home, I chose to add a Cricut® cut deer image from the Artistry collection to adorn my wreath and make it unique to me.

Even though this kit comes with four paper background designs, I chose not to use any of the paper circles behind my wreath. Instead, I trimmed down one of the paper circles to fit my Cricut® mat and used the background paper to cut out yellow polka-dot antlers. How cute are those?!

To personalize it even more, I inked the leaves, added stain to the wood wreath, and shaded the paper flowers using Red Candy Apple Ink and Red Shimmer mixed in a Spray Pen. If you wish to see how I did this and how I added all the unique touches to my design, you can view the process video below

I hope that today’s project inspired you to try something new and gave you a desire to create one of the All Around Creativity kits. These kits are available through February 29th, while supplies last, so make sure that you pick out one for your home, or special occasion, before they are gone.

Here is a List of the Products I Used Today

June Kit of the Month

When I sit down to design a layout for my Kit of the Month club members, I try to create something that “most” of them will be able to use.  I felt a little challenged using the True Love papers for something not entirely love related. (unless you are like me, and have a love for the outdoors.) As you can see, I decided to go a entirely different direction with this paper suite, and I hope you like it.

I have titled this month’s kit “My Happy Place is Outdoors”.  As a Kit of the Month Club subscriber, you will be receiving this kit in the mail in June. If you live locally,  you can save on shipping by arranging to pick-up these kits at one of my local workshops or crops.

On this layout I used the True Love papers along with various images from our Cricut™ collections. If you feel like this layout doesn’t have enough spaces for photos, it has been designed to fit perfectly with our vertical 4″ x 6″Pocket Plus™ Memory Protectors.

(NOTE: If you are a consultant, you can use the True Love Bulk papers on this layout.)

If you are like me, you have quite the collection of outdoor photos. This layout allows you to make changes to the size of the photos or use some Flip-Flaps to add more of your pictures to the layout.TrueLoveJuneKOTM_MyHappyPlaceisOutdoorsStore

MIssCarriesCreations-NSMBlogHopIf you have come here from Lauren Moore’s blog, you are on the right path!  When you are finished reading my post, you can click on the link at the end to move to the next blog. This blog hop is simple, fun, and full of artwork created by some very talented consultants.  If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melinda’s Blog.

The  World Is Yours Paper Packet is full of beautiful papers that are designed for travel, adventure, and everyday life.  I fell in love with the neutral tones in this packet and chose to use it for some  photos of my boys. MissCarriesCreations-HuntingLifeSMHow much do you love this? Those Tree patterns, Kraft paper, and roughed up neutrals complement the photos so well.  Not only does this paper packet have some spectacular patterns, but it comes with a matching sticker sheet full of icons and sentiments, like the title I used.

To add even more layers to my layout, I heat embossed the leaf images from The World is Yours stamp set onto Espresso cardstock, cut them out, and attached them behind the title.  I like how well this frames my title and photos.

The final touch, was a Cricut™ Artistry image next to a Gold stitched border. If you are not sure how to create this deer image, you can view my tutorial Create New Images with Contour.

Now ‘Hop” on over to Brenda Lapp’s blog to see her work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their blogs to get some great crafting tips and other fun ideas.
