This blog hop is simple, fun, and full of artwork created by some very talented consultants.  If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melinda’s Blog.

When I first saw  the Best Friends FURever papers, I couldn’t wait to make a layout of our little furball. Now that the kids are grown, I have just as many, if not more photos of her than I do of my kids.  She is our little lap dog who brings us so much joy, and I can’t image life without her. MissCarriesCreations-FurBabyLayout

Let me walk you through how I created this layout. I started by adding some Opaque Texture Paste to a striped Kraft paper. I designed a heart overlay in Design Space™, cut it from Vellum, and attached it to the page over the Texture Paste.

I have created a FREE CUT FILE for you to use in Design Space. You will need to own the images from the Artbooking collection to cut out this image.

Most of the paper strips came from the Best Friends FURever paper packet. I was in need of one additional pattern and discovered that the Dots paper from the Mix-Ins pack matched these papers perfectly. A chevron was cut into the bottom of each strip, the strips placed onto the background, then stitched with a sewing machine.

I added the photo with a Kraft paper mat, and some of the stickers from the Best Friends FURever paper pack.  When adding embellishments to your projects, always make sure you have designed a Visual Triangle. This creates flow and balance to any layout.♥

I have created a short process video to teach you about creating a Visual Triangle and show you  how I created the elements on this layout.

May Kit of the Month

Spring is here…well kind of.  Today we experienced a morning of sunshine, an afternoon of rain, and a winter storm warning. Well, my friends, despite the wonky weather, I am ready for spring and have created this beautiful layout for May’s flowers and showers.

MissCarriesCreations-TodayIsLifeChangingLayoutI have titled it “Today is Life Changing” and it is available to all of my Kit of the Month subscribers. Each month, I mail out a ready-to-assemble kit to those who have subscribed to my Kit of the Month Club.

My May Kit of the Month uses patterns from our new Sweet Girl papers along with some Cricut™ images from our CTMH Collections. This layout is designed for you to record your memories of Spring, Mother’s Day, Graduations, or any event that was life changing. (NOTEIf you are a consultant, you can purchase the Sweet Girl bulk paper pack to create this layout.)

If you wish, you could choose to leave off a portion of the title and record some everyday memories of your family, your fur baby, or yourself. When I design my kits, I make sure that they can be easily altered to fit your needs.

It’s Graduation Time with a Free Design Space File

It’s that time of year when we spend our days gathering up generic “congratulations” cards in hopes that one of them will work for the ever-growing list of graduates.  This month, I am offering you an alternative – A Graduation Pocket card project.♥  This Cricut Design Space™ file is sent FREE to you when you make a purchase from my website during the month of May. If you would like to recreate this project as shown, you can find a list of products I used at the very bottom of this post. MissCarriesCreations-GraduationMoneyPocketEach of these Pocket Cards fits into a 5½” x 4¼” envelope and is designed to hold either a Gift Card or Money.  Once you have opened the Free Cricut Design Space™ file, you can cut out all the images from various Close to My Heart cardstock & papers. I chose to use our Into the Wild papers with Sapphire and New England Ivy cardstock.

You will need to own the Artbooking Cricut™ collection to cut out the images I used. The Pocket Cards are my own personal design and I always ask that they not be shared, posted online, sold, or published.

After assembling the Pocket Cards, you can personalize it with stamped images you own. I chose to use images from the You Are Awesome Cardmaking Kit. This kit not only gave me some great images for my Pocket Cards, but I was able to make TWELVE MORE cards to give at graduations. (Side Note: These would also be perfect for Father’s Day!)

This Pocket Card Design Space™ is only available for FREE during the month of May with a purchase from my website. Once you have placed your online order, I will send the link to the file to the email attached to your order.  This file will not be available for sale, cannot be shared, and it is only available for a limited time, so please make sure to place your order before midnight May 31st for your link to these images.

I can’t wait to see what you create!
