Valentine Treats in my Cricut Classroom

This past month, the students in my Cricut Classroom have been busy with valentine creations. They were instructed on how to make a pop-up valentine card, a quick & easy valentine shirt, and these adorable valentine treat jars.

How cute are these?? I am getting ready to fill mine and send them off to a few of my children for Valentine’s day.

During the lesson, we talked about print-then-cut and each student learned how to use that Cricut feature to create these amazing little tags. A few of them had never tried that feature before and they were so excited to learn something new that they could do with their Cricut.

That little tag turned out so cute atop a rosette decorated with a little wooden button. The print-then-cut feature allowed us to print out our sentiment then cut out the tag shape around the images.

I chose to decorate my jars in two different ways – one for my daughter and one for a son. The pink jar is adorned with papers from the Perfect Match collection along with a few Mix-Ins and 6×6 Stacks.

The other jar has a more masculine feel with deep reds and black. These are all from the random assortment of papers in my scrap bin.

Both jars have a simple label on the front with the word “hugs” cut from cardstock. I attached it to the jar with foam tape so that I could place the paper hearts behind it.

I also added a few of those charming mini hearts to this project. Those little plastic hearts are so much fun to decorate with.

If you would like to learn how to make a valentine jar, or how to use the print-then-cut feature, then I would love for you to join me in my Cricut Classroom. A Look at My New Favorites | An Unboxing Video

As a Maker, I have access to all the new goodies one month ahead of time, but my recent absence prevented me from being able to order in December.  The first thing I did when I got back, was order a few new goodies from the January/February catalog. I didn’t order much, but I was able to grab a few items I just couldn’t go without and I am going to share those here with you.

Now that you have viewed the full catalog, let’s take a closer look at a few of the new product up-close. This season you are going to enjoy some new stamp sets, whimsical paper collections, and a few new items to help you with your slimline infatuation.

Let’s start out with the paper collections. As always, we have two new pattern sets, a mix-in, and a few holiday/seasonal collections for you.

This season you are going to enjoy creating with all of these new patterns. Our Happiness Lives Here collection has a vintage vibe with muted tones and fabric textures, while on the opposite side of the spectrum, we have the playful jungle themed Sweet Safari. Both of these can be pulled all together using our Mix-Ins which are designed as simple patterns that play well with just about any paper collection.

Each paper collections has coordinating stamp sets, scrapbook kits, cardmaking kits and Cricut collections. In my catalog walk through video, I show you all the components that come with each of our scrapbook kits. These kits are so simple to put together and they create some beautiful pages to showcase your photos and memories.

If you are looking for a few new acrylix stamps and thin cut dies to add your collection, you need go no further.  I am going to share with you the ones that shouted “pick me” the minute I opened the catalog.

I am sure you can guess which stamp set was jumping up and down first. Of course! It was the Whole Latte Love stamp & thin cuts because I just had to have another coffee themed stamp.  After adding that one to my cart, I spied the Heart Full of Love stamps.

The Heart Full of Love stamp was one that I knew I would use – after all, who doesn’t love a heart shaped shaker card. This set is designed to work with out Heart Shaker Window Thin Cuts and Acetate Windows to help you create a simple shaker to send to a friend who might need a little pick-me-up.

I also grabbed a few packs of our new Slimline Cards, some adorable Iridescent Flower Confetti, and two new thin cut dies. With Slimline cards being all the rage right now, we have a new die designed to help you create some stunning designs.

The Diagonal Stripe Slimline die has a wonderful stitching detail around the perimeter creating the perfect design for your slimline card project.  There are also two new Pennant Thin Cut dies that my friend Katy used to create some bookmarks. They are just too cute!

Last, but not least, we have our stamp of the month sets.  People often forget that these stamps are only available during the month they are released – once that month is over, you can’t get them again.

Did you know that you can get a stamp of the month for FREE as a VIP, or, if you are not a VIP, for only $5.00 with a $50 purchase from my website? This is an amazing deal so make sure you snag those stamp sets before the month is over.

Not only do you get that stamp set free as a VIP, you also earn 15% cash-credit rewards towards future purchases.  If you love Close to My Heart as much as I do, then becoming a VIP is a no-brainer if it means you can get more crafty goodies.

If you REALLY love using Close to My Heart papers & stamps, then you should probably consider joining our team as a Maker. There are so many perks to being a Maker at CTMH!

So many spectacular crafting products in one little catalog!

If you would like to see the new catalog in more detail, you can view it on my website OR get a physical copy in your hand when you place an online order.  If you are one of my VIPs, and you can’t place an order this month, you can contact me and request a copy and I’ll mail one to you.

Creating a St. Paddy’s Day Top Hat

For the Heart2Heart Vintage Vibes Challenge

This week, at the Heart2Heart challenge blog, we are playing with some old world, vintage products, like our Yesterday & Today papers, to create some fun paper craft designs. Before I show you my St. Paddy’s Day Top Hat Treat, I want to remind you how to join the challenge. All you need to is stop by the Heart2Heart blog and link your creation before March 31st.

Saint Patrick’s Day is one of my favorite holidays, so I try my best to make as many crafty creations as possible before the day comes.  This week, I decided that I wanted to use some of our Yesterday & Today papers to create an adorable top hat to fill with treats and place on my table. What do you think?

This top hat was created using a few images in Cricut® Design Space that were cut from some Yesterday & Today papers, Kraft paper, and Green cardstock. I even added some sweet little stamped images and Julep gems for sparkle.

After assembling the top hat, I filled it up with some candy nuggets, covered in some of my  leftover green paper scraps, and added a few little dancing green clovers.

How many of you would love to have this Cricut Design Space Design and learn how to assemble the project?  🙋🏻‍♀️ With all the goings on in the world this week and so many of you stuck at home, I have decided to add a little fun in your day and post a few video tutorials in my VIP Group – one of them being this whimsical Saint Paddy’s Day Treat.  (This group is designed for my VIPs, customers, and team members. You must agree to all the rules in order to join.)

I hope that this project has inspired you to create something with a little Vintage Vibe and share it with us at the Heart2Heart Challenge Blog.  Make sure to share your project before March 31st so that we are able to see your wonderful creation.
