Crafting is a fun and rewarding hobby that allows you to express your creativity and create unique pieces. Occasionally, you may encounter a project where you do not have all the necessary supplies. It’s during these times, that you need to think outside the box and make use of what you have on hand rather than resorting to purchasing something new.

As a content creator, it may seem counterintuitive to discourage you from buying new items, but I believe that using what you already have is a great way to save money and be more environmentally friendly.

One of the best ways to start is by taking a look at what you already have in your craft room. You might be surprised by what you find that can be used to complete a project.
This page records a memory from our Disney trip, and I was a bit limited on “magical” supplies, so dug through my collections and discovered a unique title and some 6×8 pattern papers that were a great match to the photos.

With these two supplies, I created a color palette and a page concept, then went to work gathering craft items from my collection to add to the page.
The photos have images of blue window coverings, pink flowers, and raspberry treats in the French Pavillion. Combing patterns with painted florals seemed like an ideal solution.

Crafting doesn’t require you to have the latest and the greatest tools to create something beautiful. Sometimes, all you need is a few random dies, paper, and your skills as a creator.
On this layout, wanted to incorporate images that represented the sweet treat we enjoyed. Although I couldn’t find any die cuts, stickers, or dies featuring raspberries, I was determined to incorporate them into my project. Instead of running to the nearest shop, I decided to use my creativity and the tools at my disposal.

To create these raspberries, I combined a dogwood branch die with a strawberry die set and created raspberry canes to tuck in the flowers. I chose similar colors to give the floral clusters a cohesive look.
In today’s video, I’ll be sharing some useful tips on how you can use supplies you already own in your craft room and share how this page comes together.
By using what you already have in your craft room, you can challenge yourself to be more creative and resourceful. The next time you’re tempted to buy something new, take a look around your craft room first and see what you can come up with!
I hope this project inspired you. If you have any questions about this project or the supplies listed above, you can leave me a comment below.
