Almost every kit I purchase comes with a set of cut-apart prints designed to be used in pocket albums. Many individuals don’t use these lovely designs because they aren’t quite sure what to do with them. Today, I am going to share a few ways that I used mine on an Easter layout.

This page is filled with some lovely layers, stenciled images, and acrylic shapes from Bramble Fox. I chose a new collection from Simple Stories to record these Easter memories and used quite a few of the cut-aparts as accents on the page.

Below the photo, I added an acrylic title and bunny perspective. To make this stand out over the pink borders, I placed a tag from the cut-apart page behind it. Many of the new Simple Stories collections are filled with tags that you can use as photo mats, journaling cards, or anchors on your page.
These collections also include standard pocket cards and journal cards. I used a few of those pieces to frame my photo.

Many cut-apart designs have phrases or images that you can use to embellish your page. The card I chose for this side of the layout has strips of washi, florals, and a butterfly. Layering the die cuts in front creates a fabulous dimensional embellishment cluster.
At times, I will cut around images on a cut-apart page and use them as accents. Instead of using the wreath as a journalling element, I cut around the wreath and used it as a photo anchor behind my cluster of flowers.

There was a bit of a gap between the two cut-apart cards I used as a frame, so I added a small sticker to fill the space. I like how this one looks like a strip of washi tape above the photo.
In my process video, I share a few more ways that I used cut-apart cards on this page, and share a few tips for creating a balanced floral layout.
Now that you have learned a few ways to use your cut-apart and pocket pages, I would love to see you give them a try. Create a layout this week and tag me on your favorite social media platform so that I can see how you used your prints and patterns.
