If you watch any of my videos, you know that I enjoy finding new uses for paper crafting products in my craft room. I am currently using a variety of floral dies on spring projects and have discovered a few new ways to use them.
These two spring cards were created with the new March paper pads in the Not2Shabby shop. With all the cooler weather we are experiencing, I needed to make something bright and cheerful to fill my space.
In addition to the paper pack, I used two new spring dies from Lawn Fawn. The Darling Daffodil die is designed to create two daffodil flowers, but many of the dies in the set can be used to create additional flowers.
On this first card, I deconstructed the daffodil and used the pieces to create a foxglove and some smaller florals. The foxglove flowers were created with side-facing daffodil centers. These could also be used to create a lupin, comfrey, or lily of the valley.
The smaller flowers were designed as the center cups of the daffodil, but their shape makes the perfect little floral.
You can also use those little flowers to create a border around your shapes and frames. On this second card, I did just that.
The arch was cut using the Garden Window die and the floral pieces were laid behind it to create a lovely little border. This is such a simple way to get more uses out of your floral die collection.
In the center of this card, I used images from the cut-apart page in the Spring Tulips paper collection. This little basket has such a fabulous watercolor look.
On each card, I also added a bit of dry embossing. These were not created with a folder, but with a scoreboard.
