When I have finished using a kit, there is invariably a surplus of stickers, die cuts, and ephemera that I did not use. One of the simplest ways to use those bits is on a color-blocked layout like the one I created for the {Not} Just for Boys kits club Mixed Media challenge.

This bright playful page was created with the Graffiti Art page kit and a mix of elements I had remaining from previous kits. I knew that I wanted to make a bold statement with this awesome photo of the girls, so I chose a contrast of black elements and pastel shimmerz paints on this page.

In each section, I selected items of similar color and added them to a faux shaker border above the photo. This border was created using a Cricut machine. If you would like to create one of your own, I have an additional video tutorial that you can view.
The sequins in the hearts come with the kit and they contain a great variety of shapes and colors. I chose to adhere them in place, but you could add some acetate and create a true shaker element if you wish.

As I was selecting the stickers and die cuts for my page, I tried to find pieces that were similar in size, shape, and texture. This helps to create cohesiveness when you are using items from multiple collections.
Many of the elements are from various 49 & Market packs and Cocoa Vanilla. I created contrasting textures with acetate, stitching, and puffy stickers.

A repetition of shapes is also helpful on a mixed layout like this one. In this design, I have multiple circles, floral shapes, matching stickers, and enamel dots.
The last piece I added to the page was the title. This is a cardstock cut that comes with the kit that I painted with black acrylic paint. This created a bold contrast and made that black and white photo really stand out.

I finished off the title by adding a few additional phrases and a charcoal-colored arrow. This filled the space perfectly and helped to lead your eye to the focal point of the page.
If you would like to learn how to create this page with the Graphtti Art page kit, I have a simple process video for you to enjoy.
Projects like this are a great way to use up those bits of ephemera, sticker packs, or die-cut collections. The design I created has a pastel design, but you could easily switch this to a monochromatic scheme or use deeper shades of color to give it a vintage feel.
I hope this inspired you to try something new. If you have any questions about the project or the supplies listed above, feel free to post that in the comments.
