Our furry friends are loved and adored, so why not create a sweet layout featuring your love for them? This week, I am sharing how I used some of my holiday items on a scrapbook page to show the relationship between and girl and her furry friend.

Relationships of all kinds are great to record in your scrapbooks especially when the photos feature a sweet fur baby and its owner. This layout was created using components from the {Not} Just for Boys Kit club Noteworthy kit which I paired with a few valentine items and bits of ephemera from 49 & Market.

Instead of choosing pink, red, or pastels for my page, I decided on a combination of blue, green, and yellow with soft neutrals. The kit contains some gorgeous floral bits that helped me to create a lovely grid pattern design.
Two of the florals are a mint color while the other is yellow. To bring some cohesiveness to the pieces, I added green leaf die-cuts behind each of them to create visual triangles with color.

Throughout the page, I also added bits of green with sentiments, hearts, and a journaling card. I love that little kiss-hug flag because this dog loves to hug her humans. It fit the page perfectly.
For my final valentine piece, I brought in a foam sticker from a simple stories sticker sheet. This green went well with the other elements and created a nice grounding point on the page.

In this photo, you can see a small amount of splatter. Behind the layers, I sprayed some carnation pink mist. This is just s subtle shine to bring a small amount of valentine color to the page.
In my process video, I share how this layout came together and explain why to choose the items for the page. I also have a BONUS video for you that shows you how to print journaling onto cut-apart pieces, pocket cards, and stickers.
This page may not be your typical valentine layout, but it is a fun one to create with your holiday pieces. Some of you may not have a significant other you are celebrating with, but you might have a furry companion that you want to record memories of and this I a great way to do just that.
I hope today’s project inspired you to try something new. If you have any questions about the design or the supplies listed above, feel free to leave me a comment.
