Record Winter Memories with a NJFB Kit

I enjoy mixing paper with textures like wood, stitching, and shimmer on my scrapbook pages and this winter layout has it all.  Today, I am going to share a project I created with a new collection from {Not} Just for Boys Kit Club and share how easy this background is to create with Nuvo Crackle Mousse.

SUPPLIES | Glassboard (Save 20% with Carrie20), Photo Printer, Sewing Machine, Keepin’ Cozy Kit, Keepin’ Cozy Essentials Kit, Tag Dies, Snowflake Dies, Essential Filmstrips, Holiday Wishes Epherma, White Nuvo Mousse, Mint Tape, T-Ruler, Die Lifter Tool, Foam Dots, Bearly Art Glue, Tape Runner

The Keepin’ Cozy Kit contains wintery patterns from Photoplay and Echo park that have been paired with cardstock, navy thickers letters, acetate filmstrips, winter ephemera, and wood pieces.  There is an optional essentials kit that includes crackle mousse which is what I used to create the background for this page.

This technique is a very simple and easy way to use your Nuvo mousse. I wanted a white frame around the elements and to give this page a little bit of texture and shimmer. Using a rough brush I dry-brushed the medium onto the page allowing the blue cardstock to show through.

To create the feeling of falling snow on the page, I added some swirls of stitching on the background. Not only do these generate a flowing feel on the page, but they also lead your eye to various parts of the layout.

I added a white die-cut snowflake, some wooden elements, and a few little bits of ephemera around the photo to give this a wintery theme. This variety of textures gave this page a wonderful feel.

The title is a simple circle die-cut from the kit that I tucked under the photo. I added another phrase using a banner die cut to create some layers and make it stand out.

Throughout the page, I scattered wood elements, blue dots, and circular elements to match the snowflakes. I added some ribbon to the tags frames and some additional stitching to bring more texture to the page.

In this video, I share how this page together and show you how simple this background is to create with crackle mousse.

This layout was a fun one to make with the tag frame, crackle mouse, and bits of winter ephemera. I hope that it inspired you to try something new.
