Stash Busting Summer Layout

This is the time of year when I try to use up some of the kits I have collected. Not only does this allow me to use up some items, but it also gives me a little break from holiday creating. To be honest, I have been working on Christmas crafts since July, and I welcome the break. Today, I am sharing a summer page I created using one of my favorite kits from {Not} Just for Boys Kit Club.

If you were lucky enough to snag this kit, you know that it has some great components in it. The bright patterns, chunky cardstock stickers, and shimmer paint are perfect for your everyday memories.

With all the vivid patterns on this page, I decided to make the title in a neutral color. This has a more masculine feel and those cardstock stickers stood out at the base of the page.

I layered the title with some stars, an arrow, a circle, and a sentiment. In each of my clusters, I repeat these elements which helps to create a cohesive design.

On the left side of the page, I added like elements and created a larger circle pattern with a stencil. This helped to fill in some of that white space and gave the illusion of a bright summer sun in the background.

To balance out that bright color, I sprinkled some yellow enamel dots on the page. Adding those little pops of yellow really gave this page a summer feel.

Cardstock stickers can be difficult to layer so I often cut apart my pieces to create less bulk on my page. The circle in this corner appears to be layered under all the other stickers, but it was trimmed down to fit the space.

As I always do, I hid my journaling behind one of the photos. This tag was cut from some of the pattern paper and a little blue tab and twine were added.

I do not have a process video for this page. My obligation is to my family right now, and crafting has taken a second seat.

If you would like more details about how this page came together, you are more than welcome to comment with any questions you have about the layout.

I hope this inspired you to try something new. If you have any questions about this project or the supplies listed above, feel free to leave me a comment.
