As you shop all the Black Friday Specials, don’t forget to grab a few kits to record your upcoming Christmas memories. Today, I am sharing a page I created using the Good Cheer Kit, which is a Black Friday exclusive from {Not} Just for Boys Kit Club. This kit has some wonderful elements that you are going to enjoy using for your Christmas pages.

This page records the memory of our two-year-old niece in awe of the ornaments on the Christmas tree. The sweet glow on her face was truly magical.

The title for this layout was created with a layer of Thickers from the kit. The golden color matches the glow in the photo. Throughout the page, I added bits of gold with twine, pearls, die cuts, and stickers.
To help the photo stand out against the lighter background, I backed it with a wood grain pattern paper and a few frames. The frames were cut to make them appear longer than they really are. This is a simple way to get more out of your ephemera pieces.

I added more wood grain to the page with a frame that I backed with a tree journal card. I trimmed the card to fit the frame and attached it to the page with some holly and a snowflake sticker. That little touch of pink matches her shirt in the photo and adds a child-like feel to the page.
To create a cohesive feel, I repeat elements throughout my designs. Both the title and wood frame have trees, holly, snowflakes, and golden elements, so I added similar elements next to my photo.

To match the softness of the photo, I layered some pine boughs cut from cardstock and added some snowflakes and a tree with pink ornaments and a golden star. Since she is reaching for an ornament in the photo, I also added a wooden bobble to the page that I painted with Shimmerz paint.
Within the elements, I wove some gold twine and added a few berries and pearls. In my video, I share some tips to help you create balance on a layout with patterns and ephemera.
The Good Cheer kit is a special Black Friday release from {Not}Just for Boys Kit Club and it has so many great elements inside. I chose to give my Christmas page a more elegant and child-like feel, but I could have used other elements in the kit and made it look completely different. That is what I love about these kits. You can make each one unique to fit your photo and story.
