Three Simple Shaker Cards for Fall

Fall is one of my favorite seasons to create cards for. I love the warm colors, plaid designs, and autumn icons. Today, I am joining the Creative Design Team with a shaker-themed project you can make using your Cricut. In my video, I will share some tips for creating shaker windows in Design Space and show you how to make a plaid background with a stencil.

SUPPLIES | Cricut Joy, Boho Cardstock, Vellum, Shaker Pockets Fall Confetti, Plaid Stencil Bundle, Spring Leaves Cover Plate, Patchwork Pumpkin Stamp, Patchwork Pumpkin Honey Cuts, Bitty Bizzwords Bloom, Itty Bitty Leaves, Simon Says Ink, Snowflake Pops of Color, Distress Oxide Inks, Light Grop Transparent Mat, Mint Tape, Blender Tool

Before I share more about this project and giveaway, I want to let you know that our team has just opened the doors to our 31 Days of Christmas Cards class.   Throughout the month of October, you get to enjoy thirty-one cardmaking tutorials with over 60 card-making ideas.

One of the issues with shaker cards is that they often require extra postage to mail. The acetate pockets I used on these cards are thinner and no foam tape is needed for this style of card because the adhesive is built right into the design.

The window panels were created in Design Space and cut with my Cricut Joy. These designs can also be made with a larger machine or replicated with your favorite leaf dies.

Plaid designs are some of my favorites to use in the fall, so I created three different designs with stencils and Distress Oxide inks to give these cards a warm feel. If you struggle trying to layer plaid stencils, search online for plaid fabric designs or tartan images. Those always inspire me.

Each one of these cards has a unique plaid design. I chose some common colors that I see every fall, but you can use any combination of colors to that fit your project.

The stamped images, cover plate, and die cuts are all from the collection I purchased last autumn. You might even recognize a few from my previous projects. I love sharing ways that you can use items you already own.

Inside each of the windows, I added some lovely leaf confetti from This Calls From Confetti. The large leaves with the flatter confetti pieces are perfect for these shaker cards.

To create some texture on these cards, I used a cover plate. Cover plates and embossing folders are simple ways to bring more to your card designs.

In my video, I show you how easy these Cricut cards are to create in Design Space and I share some simple shaker card assembly tips.

I am loving this new Fall Confetti Collection so much, that I would love to gift one of you with a gift certificate to This Calls for Confetti.
