I am working on my Disney album this week and catching up on a few scrapbook layouts. Today, I am going to share a page that I created of the fire station on Main Street. This holds a special memory in my heart and I share why in my video.

When I received the Limitless kit from {Not} Just for Boys Kit Club, I knew that the vintage pattern would be a perfect backdrop for this photo. I paired it with two other patterns that not only give this a Disney feel but match the theme of the layout.

I found inspiration from a PageMaps sketch which had a large vertical journaling area on the layout. Sketches are my go-to starting point when I don’t have many brain cells to work with.
I typed my journaling on one of the ephemera pieces from the kit, then used arrows to point to the story. I layered an acrylic phrase, die cuts, and a sticker below the photo to bring some emphasis to the journaling.

In each of the embellishment clusters, I repeat color, patterns, and shapes. I used a variety of grey elements to match the acrylic phrase, some circles to break up the lines, and red, blue, and black and white.
Repetition helps to bring balance to a layout, and sometimes you have to make some alterations to achieve that balance. In my title, the camera die-cut had a bright yellow circle. I didn’t have any yellow on my page, so I covered it with a piece of pattern paper.

I brought in some neutral tones to the layout using the puffy thickers. These added a little bit of a masculine feel to the page and matched all the wood elements in the fire station photo.
In my process video, I share how this page came together using elements from the Limitless Kit and I show you how I paired it with items from my theme park collections.
I know that this was not a traditional way to use some of the patterns and elements in the Limitless kit, but I love being able to show you different ways to use items you have in your collection. We all have bits and pieces left over from projects, so why not mix them in with some Not Just for Boys Club kits and create a really fun layout?
I hope this project inspired you to try something new. If it did, I would love for you to tag @misscarriescreations so that I can see what you have made.
