Mix & Match Collections on a Page

Each month, I receive a subscription box from Scrapbook & Cards today filled with samplers of popular products.  These boxes are perfect for those who just want a taste of a paper collection they wish to try.  Unfortunately, I have not taken time to use any of the items since May, so I dumped everything out on my desk and combined collections on this page.

SUPPLIES | Happy Heart Paper, Sweet Rush Paper, Shine Bright Tags, Be Yourself, Bookplate, Stencil, Papersnips, Sweet Rush Ephemera, Sweet Rush Stickers, Splendid Ephemera, Splendid Cardstock Stickers, Enamel Hearts

This might seem a bit overwhelming at first, but if you try to stick to no more than three colors and choose items that match the theme of your photo, you can narrow it down quickly.

As I selected pattern paper for the page, I knew that I wanted to bring in some pink to match the title perspextive and some blue to match the photo.  One of my favorite combinations for summer is pink, navy, and yellow so I selected a florals from two collections to brighten up the page.

To make sure that they played well together, I chose floral patterns that were similar and paired them with a grey floral to break up the busyness. On the right side of the page, I mirrored those patterns in a smaller scale.

When it came time to add the photo and select the ephemera, I brought the navy blue into the page. I backed the photo with a tag and cut some leaf shapes from navy cardstock.

The floral die cuts and stickers that were selected had similar patterns and texture. Again, these came from multiple product collections, but they paired will with the other elements I added.

To close up some of the white space, I added a trail of butterflies with a stencil and some stickers. The images were similar to the papers and flowers I added, and the allowed me to balance out some of the colors on the page.

In my video, I share more about how I selected items from this collection to create this page.

This page has so many bright elements which reflect the dazzling personalities of these three lovely ladies.  The patterns, stickers, die cuts from multiple collections pair well with the title I chose for the theme of the layout.

Now, it’s your turn to grab a few of your collections and mix them together to create a project. I would love to see how this project inspired you. Post your comment below or tag @misscarriescreations when you share online.

I hope this inspired you to try something new. If you have any questions about this project or the supplies listed above, feel free to leave me a comment.
