Keep Cardmaking Simple this Summer

For most of you, summer is loaded with activity. I spend most of my time in the garden, but this year, we added a renovation to the mix. So far, I have sent two coffee makers to their graves, and a milk steamer went on strike. Amid the madness, I find sanity in creating something new.

Today’s simple project was created for the Coffee Loving Cardmaker blog. It’s been such a joy being a guest designer and sharing coffee designs with everyone.

In the summer I like to try to use up some of my craft stash. I usually buy way more than I need in the winter months, and with funds being diverted towards the house, I have rediscovered some items I forgot that I had. Right now, my sticker collection is overflowing, so I have decided to use them on some card projects.

Stickers make easy sentiments, embellishments, backgrounds, and borders. On this card, I used a large sticker for the sentiment, a mini cup to embellish the sentiment, and two banners as trimmings below the flower. I backed the sentiment in some matching cardstock and added a simple magnolia flower to bring everything to life.

I shaded the flower to match the pink elements and layered some leaves behind cut from a cardstock that matched the sentiment. In the center, I added some liquid pearls in bisque and rose gold. I love the bit of sparkle this adds. I also added a bit of sparkle above the flower with some Pops of Color.

This card came together so quickly without any stamping or coloring. I must admit, I was pretty proud of myself for using up a few items I had stashed away, and plan on making a few more cards with this collection.

I hope that today’s project inspired you to use up some of your coffee collection this season. Don’t forget to stop by the Coffee Loving Cardmaker blog and check out some more projects.

I hope this inspired you to try something new. If you have any questions about this project or the supplies listed above, feel free to leave me a comment.
