A Dog Mom Gift for Mother’s Day

This month, the Creative Design Team is celebrating mothers. I know from personal experience that this holiday can be difficult for some of you, so I have created three little gifts you can make for anyone who needs a little pick-me-up this mother’s day. I will also be sharing some simple watercolor techniques with you in my video tutorial.

Today, I am sharing the Dog Mom gift that you can give for mother’s day. I designed an adorable seed packet holder to fill with treats, paw salve, or a new collar.

The pocket was cut from a die and assembled using two layers of craft paper and score tape for durability. I dry-embossed some floral images onto the paper before adhering the tabs together and added a little ink to bring those images to life.

To add more dimension to the piece, I stamped two strawberry images. One of the berry bundles was cut out and layered onto the other with foam tape.

After filling a skinny treat bag with yummy bites, I added a burlap bow and a few tags. I think this is the perfect little project for the Simon Says Stamp blog for the Sweet Treats challenge.

Those sweet little tags were cut from pattern paper and layered together. I stamped a little bone using blue-grey ink on the circle tag. After adding the sentiment sticker, I attached the tag with jute twine.

In my video, I share watercolor tips that show how I added color to the strawberries. You can also see how this little treat seed pocket came together.

My goal was to show you gifts you could make for anyone who needs a little pick-me-up this mothers day. Not all of us have moms, are moms, or were able to be a mom. This charming little dog mom (or cat) gift holder will bring some sunshine to someone’s day.

All week long, the Creative Design Team will be celebrating mothers. A few teammates have not posted their videos, yet, so make sure you are subscribed to each channel and select the notifications icon. If you have questions about this project or the supplies I used, feel free to comment below.
