What do you like to make at Christmas time? For our family, it is homemade candies. The trays are filled with fudge, truffles, cherry mash, brittles, hard candies, and more. Today, I am sharing a page that I have made for a recipe book with a photo of a few of the candies we make.

This page was designed for the 12 Days of Christmas Inspiration YouTube hop. Day Ten’s theme is Holiday Treats. I am feeling under the weather this week and felt like a smaller page would be easier to tackle.
To tell you the truth, I prefer mini-albums and smaller pages. When I ventured into memory keeping 25 years ago, most scrapbooks were 8½ x 11. Times have changed, but I still prefer that smaller size.

As I said, this page is an insert to a cookbook I have been working on for my older son. This page will be the divider for the Christmas Candy section.
The background for this layout was made using a polka-dot stencil from Honey Bee Stamps and white pigment ink. I love the chalk-like look that pigment ink creates. If you prefer a brighter white, you can layer more ink to your page or use white embossing powder.

If you use embossing powder, you need to sprinkle the powder in stages on the page while the ink is still wet. After you heat set the powder, you will have a bright white raised polka-dot background.
I prefer the muted look on this smaller page, because it doesn’t compete with the Echo Park papers I added.

Most of the embellishments on this page are from retired collections. I am focusing on using my craft collections before my big craft room clean-out in January. I’ll be selling off most of my supplies in my Facebook group.

I hope that you were inspired to create a few Holiday Treat memories of your own this year. To view the other Christmas Memories videos, click on my video, and you will find the list in the description.
