Welcome to my first Tuesday Tip! Creating Tuesday Tip videos has been on my heart for over a year, but I worried it wouldn’t be something you would enjoy. After receiving encouragement from a friend, I decided to start adding a few videos each month to help you in your craft space.
Today, I am going to share how I organize my Thin Cut dies. There are quite a few options for metal die storage. (you may have searched the rabbit hole of pinterest for them) Instead of giving you multiple options, I am just going to share what works for me in my craft space.
I choose to utilize the space that I have and create storage systems that travel well. Unpacking and repacking supplies when I go to crops needs to be simple and easy, which is why I chose to use binders for storing my metal dies.
These albums are three-ring Everyday Life albums with pocket memory protectors. The pockets are sized at 3″ x 4″, 4″ x 6″, and 8″ x 6″ – which fit most of my thin cut dies. All I need to do is slide the magnetic sheets into the pockets.
In my Tuesday Tip video, I share with you how I label these binders and store the dies in each of the pockets.
Some dies come with magnetic sheets that do not fit in the memory protector pockets, and some of my dies did not come with magnetic sheets. I have found magnetic vent covers that work perfectly for this occasion. I just cut the magnetic sheet down to the size of my pocket and add my dies to the sheet.

great idea! Mine are currently in a shoebox, but I cut out a sample on card stock and put that in a binder in categories. What other categories of die cuts do you have? I have one for words, another for borders, and a huge one for leaves!

My categories are simple – shapes, words, borders, tags. I also have a binder for miscellaneous items- bugs, flowers, etc.

This is a fabulous tip. I have tons of dies but wanted to keep my CTMH dies easy to access….I think this just may be my solution. Thank you for sharing! Do you store your alphabet dies in a binder also? I am looking forward to your Tuesday Tips! I really enjoy your CDT videos!!! 🙂

You are welcome! I am glad it helped. At this time, I don’t own any of the alphabet dies – I use my Cricut to cut letters. I am sure they would work great in an album. Let me know if you have any suggestions for future Tuesday Tips.

I also really like your color containers of embellishments. I have years of packages of embellishments stuffed in Iris Drawers that I really need to use. If they are organized more efficiently like yours, I just might be able to use them more often. 🙂
