After having had a few days to recover from my whirlwind cardmaking experience with Mary Gunn, I am happy to say that I survived another game of Craft Roulette. Every Friday night, Mary hosts this amazing game show on facebook live that involves the spin of a wheel, four papercrafting parameters, and an hour of funn.

Before the game had even begun, I knew that it was going to be an interesting night. My previous appearance had simple parameters, no technical issues, and Stephen seemed to be in a good mood. I just had a feeling that THIS TIME something might go a little topsy-turvy. I probably should not have decided to veto the gnomes.
Let me back up a little bit. Craft Roulette involves two lovely people (Mary Gunn & her son Stephen) who had this wonderful idea to host a paper crafting game show and invite guest crafters, like me, to create something new based on four random choices determined by a roulette wheel. Here is the final result after my time on the show.

Can you guess what parameters were spun on the wheel? Here is a hint: None of them were gnomes. As a guest crafter, I had the opportunity to veto one of the ninety-six possibilities that said wheel might have landed on – I chose gnomes.
Now, I have nothing against gnomes. I enjoy tales of fairies, trolls, giants, and pixies. To be honest, I choose to veto the little buggers because I have no gnomes in my stash. I don’t think my veto mattered anyway because the wheel was determined to throw me for a loop. If you want to know what we were feeling at that moment, take a look at this still-shot from the video. (I should have never vetoed gnomes.)

Project: Pick A Sketch
Colors: Pastels
Element: Best Friends
Random: Metallic Paper
That’s me writing down all the parameters and thinking “What am I going to do with this?“
As usual, the time felt like it flew by quickly as I gathered pastel papers, a “best friend” stamp, and some metallic threads and paper. I must have had Valentines on my mind as I was creating because the end result was a simple 6″ x 6″ card with a few little stitched hearts and an image of my best friend.

To be honest, I don’t think it turned out too bad. I did feel frustrated that my video and sound kept giving Stephen fits throughout the show, but I realized later that it was my fault for not turning on the battery pack my phone was plugged into. (sorry Stephen…stinkin’ gnomes)
If you have some time and need a little entertainment, here is Episode #47 of Craft Roulette.
Make sure to subscribe to the Craft Roulette channel so that you don’t miss any episodes AND join in every Friday live in Mary GunnFunn’s facebook group. After the show, you can submit your creations to be featured in the Contributor Showcase.
I want to thank Mary and Stephen for being such wonderful hosts and apologize to all gnomes and gnome fans everywhere. I hope that this week’s challenge inspired you to try something new and that I can see you soon at Craft Roulette.
I hope this inspired you to try something new. If you have any questions about this project or the supplies listed above, feel free to leave me a comment.
