Day Fourteen: An Eclipse Slimline Christmas Card

Today is day fourteen of our Creative Design Team video collab, and I am excited to share what I have made.  I chose to use non-Christmas products with my Cricut to create an Eclipse Slimline Card with a little gift pocket inside.

This year, I have not been able to purchase any of the new Christmas products, so I chose instead to use what I have – some Lovely papers, a few year-round stamps, my Cricut, and our amazing Fancy Border thin cuts.  Many of you have items in your stash that you could use for this type of card and my hope is that you pull out of few of these supplies and give it a try. 

To create the front panel of the card, you will need some letter dies or a cutting machine.  In the video tutorial I show you how I used Design Space to create the front panel and cut it out with my Maker. The wreath image I used for the “O” is not from a Christmas collection, but, in fact, is from our year-round Florals and Flutters stamp set. 

I stamped the wreath image in Evergreen and Sage inks, then cut it out using the matching thin cuts.  I then added some little red beads, a vellum bow, and a sticker from our Comfort & Joy sticker sheet.  How cute is that little bow? I just love all the little stitched details and how soft it looks. 

The lace on the card was created using our Fancy Borders thin cuts.  I also used one of these borders to create the scallop edge on the inside pocket of the card. 

Those lovely border dies are so much fun to play with and have so many possibly.  I am working on another project right now using these dies. Speaking of lovely — that is the name of the paper I used.  Our Lovely collection is a year-round collection that you can use for any occasion. It is full of beautiful patterns and colors that I know you will enjoy. 

In the video tutorial, I show you how to create the card base, form the pocket and assemble the card.  I hope you enjoy learning how to create this project.
