There have been so many wonderful products arriving on my doorstep this fall, and it has been hard to choose which ones to use on a project.  It’s like information overload – or crafty goodness overload – in my craft space.  Today, I decided to pull out some new Thin Cuts dies that I purchased in August and showcase them behind some images I created using the beautiful With All My Love stamp set

The French Vanilla and White Glitter background for this card was created using our new Layered Floral Background thin cuts.  These metal dies come in a set of three and are designed to help you to create this beautiful layered background for your card. Isn’t it just stunning?

I love how simple this background was to make! All you have to do is choose the three colors of paper, cardstock, or specialty paper you want to use and the dies cut out perfect 4¼” x 5½” backgrounds that you can layer together for an incredible effect.

After assembling the background, I added a strip of Floral Mix-Ins paper wrapped in Gold Embellishing Thread and tucked two leaves behind the paper strip.  The large Maple leaf was cut from Toffee paper using our Leaves Thin Cuts and stamped using the “heart” image on the With All My Love stamp set.  The second leaf was stamped in Cinnamon using the Textured Leaf stamp set.

The flowers were also created using the With All My Love stamp set.  I stamped the images in Intense Black Ink, then used Desert Rose, Cinnamon, Sundance, and Avocado inks with a waterbrush to shade the images. I plan on showing this technique in my VIP Community Group this month.

After the ink had dried, I splattered the flowers with a Toffee Shimmer brush, cut them out, and layered them onto the card using foam tape. I had debated adding some stickles to the center of the flowers, but I am glad I chose to keep them as is.

The sentiment on this card was heat embossed onto vellum using Clear Embossing Powder and Cinnamon Ink, then tucked behind the flowers. To finish the design, I placed a few loops of Gold Embellishing Thread behind the flowers and added some White Flower Sequins to the card.  Those little flowers have become a new favorite of mine. They are so sweet and delicate looking and add just the right amount of elegance to a project.

I hope that this Fall Florals card inspired to to try something new and give a few of these techniques a try.  Now ‘Hop” on over to the talented Brandi Robinson’s Blog to see her work!

  1. You always inspire me! I love everything about this card. Every. Single. Thing. But my favorite is using the heart stamp on your leaf. What an awesome way to stretch that stamp.
