Welcome to the New Product Blog Hop

Fall is here and our  group has been busy creating some wonderful creations for you featuring products from the new September/October catalog. 118688680_10157792610047686_3570181646909527190_nThis seasonal idea book is full of delightful papers, new shades of cardstock, stickers, stamps, and dies all rolled up in a beautiful bundle of inspiration.  If you have come here from Darlys Recker’s Blog you are on the right path!  When you are finished taking a look at my Fall Joy Slimline Card, you can click on the link at the end to move to the next blog.  This blog hop is simple, fun, and full of artwork created by some very talented consultants.  If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melinda’s Blog.

The colors of autumn are some of my favorites to work with especially when it involves skeletonized leaves. When I first saw the Textured Leaves stamps and dies in the new catalog, I knew I had to have them and made plans right away to create a slimline card.

This is only the second slimline card I have created.  I am not normally one to follow trends, but the size of these Textured Leaves required a larger card and the 8.5″ x 3.5″ base was ideal for this design.

Each one of the leaf images was heat embossed onto cardstock to give some texture to the design.  I chose a few of our new colors – Sundance & Cinnamon – and paired them with Almond, Espresso, and Paprika.

After the leaves were cut out, I used a few of our Distress Oxide Inks on the edges to create some color variation. Those new inks are just delightful! Each one blends beautifully and dries to a soft chalky color.  I have already created one project with them and I can’t wait to create more.

The papers and stickers on this card are also new to our collection.  The background papers are from our Woodgrain and Mix-In paper packs which coupled beautifully with the Sunflower stickers from the Bloom with Grace collection.  Don’t these paper designs just make you want to create??

Once the leaves were layered, the stitching was added, and the sentiment chosen, I felt like it needed a something more.  I realized that I had spoiled myself with some Copper Ore paper and knew that it would be a wonderful addition to the card.

Those Flower Market twigs were cut on my Cricut Maker using the Metallic Poster-board setting, then tucked under each of the leaves on the card.   I only wish the photo did justice to the beauty of this paper.

I hope that today’s project inspired you to create something fun for fall and to take a look all the amazing new products in our September/October catalog.  If you are like me and need a printed version of the idea book in your hands, you can get one free when you place an order on my website.
